Not surprised - always a wrong signing to me
Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”

Still keeping the faith!
Re: Ryan Lamb
personally I don't see how? Ever since he got repeatedly run over by Alex at twickers I have never thought he had Prem potential.Bill W (2) wrote:Could have worked. But didn't!rocktop51 wrote:Not surprised - always a wrong signing to me

Re: Ryan Lamb
I agree Lamb was supposed to be a cover for Flood but failed to step up to the mark on several occasions. The sooner he finds somewhere else the better.
Re: Ryan Lamb
Just take him over there on Friday night and leave without him, job done.
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
Re: Ryan Lamb
While I concur the move has not been a success I hate to see anyone not live up to their potential. It does not benefit anyone and lets remember Lamb like everyone else is a human being so calling for him to be left without a job is hardly constructive.
If he leaves I wish him well.
Finally what's the betting if he goes both Flood and Williams will get injured?

Re: Ryan Lamb
Don't you know that all bets are off. The link between injuries and Tigers is a strong as the link between a plate full of baked beans and eruptions from areas where lock forwards stick their heads.smalldell wrote: Finally what's the betting if he goes both Flood and Williams will get injured?
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

Re: Ryan Lamb
Mieres currently has a 0% win record so he can't be any worse but I doubt he's the man to save Wuss from relegation. He just isn't good enough to play at this level and barring a change in form that'd have him up in front of the anti-doping authorities it's doubtful he ever will be again.

Re: Ryan Lamb
I think the plan was to him have as back-up at best to Flood for a season, and have him coming off the bench at most, whilst swapping lower team duties with Williams. So we'd put him through the Tigers mill for a year, and then have him as a better quality player for next season.TigerCam wrote:personally I don't see how? As it was, Flood got injured early doors, so we were forced to start Lamb in a game away at Bath that we wouldn't have wanted him to play much part in- he bottles it and it's downhill from there.
I'll always appreciate his willingness to chuck the ball around leading to our try in the final minutes away at Montpellier, and it's unfortunate that that will be the peak of his Tigers career. Good luck at Worcester
Re: Ryan Lamb
As I recall, he pretty much ran the show in an impressive performance against Ulster for our pre-season friendly.
I know there was no real pressure there, (except for the expectation of a win in his first outing at Welford Rd),
but he put in a good shift and it is disappointing to see him quietly disappear from the club.
I wish him all the best.
Sometimes things don't always work out the way you hoped they would.

Re: Ryan Lamb
I considered him too flaky for Tigers and it seems Cockers agrees with me.
Good luck to the lad at Worcs - he should go very well in the championship next year....

Re: Ryan Lamb
I think Lamb was signed as an insurance policy. Flood was expected to be away for at least a month with England, and Williams, although an obvious talent was completely untested, so a solid back-up was required. He was never going to set the world on fire, but was there to do a job.youngtiger wrote: I think the plan was to him have as back-up at best to Flood for a season, and have him coming off the bench at most, whilst swapping lower team duties with Williams. With Flood now out of the England fold, and Williams doing ok, it's probably a good move for all involved. Worcester get another option at 10, we get a gap in a salary budget, Lamb gets regular starts.
Mele becomes a serious option at 10 if required. Last time we were forced into using a non-specialist at 10, IIRC we did quite well, and got to the Heineken Cup final (and ironically he now works for Worcester too!).
Re: Ryan Lamb
I feel sorry for the Wuss fans. Just when they thought it couldn't get any worse.......
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.
