Boris

Post by fortysix »

I am a Boris fan, through and through. He would walk into virtually all the other PR sides as a top scrummager.

The fact that he has been very loyal to us as a perennial second string speaks volumes for his character, but I am sure none of us would expect him to turn down a starting spot, and the money that goes with it.

If he goes, London Irish will have a good base.....

Apologies for maybe appearing dumb but have I missed something? Is rumour control linking Boris with a move to the Not Nots?

Yes, LI and Newport have been rumoured.
It's on the transfer rumours thread - not sure why the op has started a new one.
Also lists a Biarritz prop as possible replacement

Thanks Murphs. As you say, why start a new thread?

Boris off to Dragons as player coach

Post by DCATsOLDMAN »

According to the Merc, going on a two year contract.

Worthy of a separate thread as I am sure many will want to wish him well.

Boris has been a great servant to the club, and will be missed as a player and a gentleman.

+1. Will be hard to replace him - a great squad man.

I'll be sorry to see Boris go but, as Cockers says in the article, it's the perfect move for him and the next chapter in his career.

All the best, Boris. :smt023

Two years ago I said that I am amazed that Boris was willing to stay, especially with the arrive of Logo. This just shows the quality of the man. I wish him well and may be a little more game time in his new club. A proud Tiger who epitomised the team. I remember in his first or second season when he took on the whole Saints front row (eventually ending in the bin). Never took a backwards step.

Good luck and hears hoping we get to welcom the Dragons to WR next season

The man is a legend in this house. Devastated to see him on his way. I wish him well in his new venture and will welcome him back anytime.

Cockers says Boris has been supporting the younger players coming through while still at Tigers. Doesn't that suggest a similar deal to that at the Dragons could have been put together at Tigers?

Tigers may be looking to sign a new prop in his replacement and both Cole and Ayerza have the wealth of experience to pass onto the new crop. I think for the man and the club that this is the right move. Gutted he is leaving but everyone has a time and sadly this is Boris'.

I am sorry Boris is leaving us. I always loved watching him play and think he has been a truely great servant for the Tigers.

All the best Boris and thanks for the memories.

Sad to see him go but Cockers is right when he says this is a good step for him. A fantastic scrummager who may not have done any of the flash stuff but he would never let us down. How many times has he saved us by throwing in the line out when our hooker was sin binned? Good luck Boris :smt026

Good luck to Boris. Cockers wanted him to stay another year but the opportunity to play and get into a coaching role is a good move for Boris. Cockers said on the radio that Boris will need to learn the dark arts of coaching :smt003
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.
