Re: Ashton sacked....
If like me you're wondering where this information came from, the Daily Mail here is claiming Ashton has been dropped whilst the Daily Telegraph here is only predicting the omission of Ashton from this weekend's match with France.
Believe what you will. I'll wait until the official line-up is announced.

Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

Thanks BJ. Just logged on to ask for a references as he's still in the 35 here

I think "sacked" might be premature.

Re: Ashton sacked....
The Daily Mail has a remarkable record of getting inside information from the RFU in recent years.
Re: Ashton sacked....
In the AIs the Telegraph, which seems to be the paper of choice for the England team leaks, was reporting he was going to be dropped for Wade before Wade got injured - it has taken the best part of two years but it seems, to me, fairly definite that Ashton is going to be dropped by Lancaster.
We will get to see if other wingers can do more in attack in the current England set up.

Re: Ashton sacked....
Whilst I applaud this selection, it is irrelevant who is on the wing when your fly half crabs across the pitch instead of running straight and playing flat !!!
Less is more....

Or, with Ashton in mind, in defence.snoopster wrote:In the AIs the Telegraph, which seems to be the paper of choice for the England team leaks, was reporting he was going to be dropped for Wade before Wade got injured - it has taken the best part of two years but it seems, to me, fairly definite that Ashton is going to be dropped by Lancaster.

Ahton played off Flood and Foden. Once they were gone and a donkey took the field, he had no chance.
Nowell? Half the player Elliott or May is.

Good to see Danny Care back in the mix too. I hope Jack Nowell has a good start certainly a better defender that Ashton. Come to think of it even I am a better defender that Ashton!!

Well, in the last two years Toby started 6 matches at fly half, and came off the bench in another eight games and I don't believe Ashton scored a single try when Toby was on the pitch.
The tries he did score in the last two years I believe all came with Farell on the pitch at ten, including two excellent support tries against the all blacks and Scotland.
That said, right time from Ashton to take a step aside.

Yes but how many other tries other than those two did he score?tig1 wrote:jgriffin wrote:Ahton played off Flood and Foden. Once they were gone and a donkey took the field, he had no chance.

Re: Ashton sacked....
Never mind Ashton who was it that told you that Ben Youngs would not be in the England squad for this Saturday's match, if that's not a comment about his poor form then I'm a Dutch man.
