Have we qualified already??

Post by fortysix »

Think we have already qualified or am I wrong ??

In theory we could get No 1 seeding with 5 points v Ulster and Toulon/Toulouse slipping up.....

I assumed this too, Saracens and us certainly cannot be caught for a runners up spot.

By my reckoning, if Cardiff fail to win in Toulon, Tigers and Ulster will be through to the quarter finals.

Updated following Cardiffs loss to Toulon

Group 1 - Saints can get a maximum of 19points
Group 2 - Cardiffs can get a maximum of 18 points
Group 3 - Saracens / Toulouse could get 20 or 25 points to get a runners up spot
Group 4 - Quins can get a maximum of 17 points
Group 5 - TIGER / ULSTER
Group 6 - Gloucester can get a maximum of 19 points

Toulon and Clermont qualify as group winners

Ulster got enough points for a Runner Up place.

Tigers got enough for a Runners up place.

Bring on next week for a home quarter final knock out game!!

Spot on Tigerbeat - nice Rachel Riley impression! :smt038

I have been saying for ages 20 points would get us a minimum HEC QF slot.

Looking like:

3 Irish
3 French
2 English

to qualify.

We are through to the QF of HC

With Cardiff losing we are through to the quarter finals of HC at least as one of the best runners up. So with the pressure off we can go for the win to try and secure a home QF.
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

So lets hope we relax and play some great rugby and get a famous home win ready for the quarter finals.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Let's hope that the Tigers fans attending don't take a win for granted and help create a cracking atmosphere as the 16th man. Something akin to Toulouse last season would be good........but 10-15 degrees warmer would be even better!

Of course this qualification for the HC QF being the case Tigers continue their abysmal record of never having won or even managed to draw a single game in the Challenge cup - appalling! :smt002 :smt005
