Blaine Scully?

Post by voice of the crumbie »

Does anybody know whether we managed to retain Blaine's services? He was on a short term contract until the end of 2013 although the management stated they were looking at ways within the salary cap to try and keep him. Things seem to have gone quiet on this subject of late. Does anybody have any insider knowledge?

He was also warming up with the players before the Sale game which would indicate that things are positive on this front.

Hi I spoke with Blaine after the sale game and he said to me that he was staying at tigers.

Yeah, he is a very good prospect.

Maybe it is a ploy so that the other premiership teams forget about him until he has signed a proper contract. :smt023

Now that is really good news at last - a real prospect in the back 3 if we keep hold of him.

Thanks Matttiger and all others who replied.

Excellent news. As has been said a really good prospect who seems keen to stay with Tigers!

Well done to the scouting / coaching team for identifying yet another excellent prospect from outside of the club.

According to the Mercury today, he's signed a deal that will keep him at Welford Road at least until the end of this season.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

RC confirmed this on BBC Radio Leicester after today's game. In the discussion it was suggested/explained that money became available as Brett Deacon had to retire suddenly so there was enough to keep Scully to the end of the season (and the next cap juggle).
