Ridiculously priced infant kit, amongst others!!

Post by Cozzer27 »

Am only writing this in the hope that someone in the Tigers merchandising department reads it.

Does anyone else think that £45 on an infants kit is astronomically expensive? I've purchased a couple of the cotton trader infant tops before (£20 each) but refuse to shell out that amount for the new kits, especially when the shorts will hardly ever be worn.

Come to think of it most of the Tigers merchandise is vastly overpriced!

To be honest Cozzer, I'd be very surprised if any of the Tigers merchandising department does read this. If you have a complaint, I'd suggest sending it directly to the shop.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

I think £45 is at the higher end for infant kit but not ridiculous or astronomical for the full ensemble if it’s reasonably well made from quality materials. It’s probably a little cheaper on Lovell or similar but I don’t know if the quality would be comparable.

It’s hardly Tigers’ fault if the shorts won’t get much wear.

In my experience as soon as you get them anything expensive they have a growth spurt.

The current England one is on for £32 http://store.rfu.com/stores/rfu/product ... pid=134747

There's 20% off online for Tigers one, Cozzer so it's £34 which is pretty good.

Only noticeably cheap than that is under armour's welsh kit: http://store.wru.co.uk/WRU-Boys-Kit-Sho ... p-Set.html

Last season's infant Tigers & international kits are around for about £10, if you're that bothered about price.

Compared to the £12 I paid for a Liverpool FC infants kit earlier this year at normal price (top & shorts) then I'd say £45 is a tad on the high side personally.

Only older kits I've seen (tigers online shop only so far) is last seasons but only size 0-1, which is no good unfortunately. Will have to scout round the rest of the web then.

Wrong one dude - http://store.liverpoolfc.tv/LFC-2013-14 ... /pid-38286

Something similar for tigers would be ideal.

The Tigers equivalent of that is £14, well worth the extra pound.

Yes the children's kit is a silly price. For £45 you could buy several clothing sets for a young person, jumpers, pyjamas, tops and a coat from Asda, all of which will wear well and on which Asda has a good profit.

I have spent ages looking for a rugby shirt for a 3 year old because she wants one that she can wear. She has grown but there was nothing for 3-4 year olds in the Tigers shop. She doesn't want a full kit, why would anyone want a full kit? As an alternative I looked for England shirts but they are silly money too and again no where can I find 3-4 year sizes not 4-5 years.

She has a new baby sister arriving in the New Year so perhaps there will be something in the post Xmas sale.

The highprices and the lack of choice have meant that I have spent £0 with the Tigers shop this year.

I juts tend to buy the old kits for the kids, as you say £45 buys you a LOT of children's clothes.

The store appears to have 20% some items at the moment too.

Obviously (well, to me at any rate) it’s a matter of choice but if you can’t appreciate the justification for the price point difference between playing quality kit and the offerings from George at Asda I don’t know what to say.

It's not the quality for me, but the fact that £45 is on the granddaughter's/grandson's back for a few months at most.

Have to agree with the comments above re the excessive price of kids shirts, bought a series of cotton traders kids shirts which my son has now outgrown but refuse to buy a canterbury replacement because aside from the price being excessive in itself for a childs shirt, the differential between that and an adult shirt seems unreasonable i.e. a shirt which is 30% of the size of the adults but only 20% cheaper. Add to that the dismal design of the strip itself and I can't justify buying one.

Actually the Asda quality is pretty good especially on children's clothes. This business of player quality shirts I see as a nonsense. Yet another rip off by introducing a premier level.

It is time the kit manufacturers worked out that many people want some value for their money.
