Premiership XV Of The Season So Far

Post by kpj tiger »

Having seen a few of the Opta teams of the week on BT sport and the fact that we are roughly half way through the season I was wondering what people's XV of the season so far would be, mine would be
1. Alex Waller (Saints)
2. Dylan Hartley (Saints)
3. Logovi'i Mulipola (Tigers)
4. Samu Manoa (Saints)
5. Dean Mumm (Chiefs)
6. Daniel Braid (Sharks)
7. Julian Salvi (Tigers)
8. Dave Ewers (Chiefs)
9. Danny Care (Quins)
10. Danny Cipriani (Sharks)
11. Tom James (Chiefs)
12. Luther Burrell (Saints)
13. Vereniki Goneva (Tigers)
14. Semesa Rokoduguni (Bath)
15. Chris Pennell (Worcester)

Why have Logo at 3 when he has been laying all his rugby so far this season at 1 for tigers and has since been injured/away with samoa.

would have Wilson at 3 I don't rate to high internationally but he has had a very good start to the season with bath.

Ewers is a good choice on par with Dickerson.

and have Brown at 15, been quins biggest player atm.

With the possible exception of Salvi and Burrell, no I wouldn't have picked any of those. Before injury both Slater (and Kitchener) would be in the second row for me, the Sinners 8 is head and shoulders above most 8's this year.Hartley would not be making the jam for the sandwiches let alone hook.Roko at Barf would just about make it though thinking about it.Foden at full back before injured too and Courtney Lawes is ahead of Manoa for me too.

Think you have to have Lawes there at lock, as much as I don't like the guy (never met him so not sure why!!) he has been in exceptional form.

I did consider Lawes but Manoa and Mumm have been immense this year as well, It would be a battle between Lawes and Slater for the bench spot on my team

Because Mulipola was great for us at the start of the season but Waller has been great for Saints too, I couldnt think of many standout No.3's so i stuck Mulipola in there

I agree Brown has been Quins best player but i think his best performances have been in the HC so far plus Pennell statistically he has been one of the better meter makers of the season

How did you rate his running lines?

And his ability to break the defensive line? :smt001
