Wearing different kits just for the sake of it?

Post by BJ. »

Yesterday morning, I was channel hopping and came across the Scarlets v Ulster match on S4C. Now, if a team called the Scarlets are playing at home in a stadium named Parc y Scarlets (or Scarlets Park for the English-speaking majority of us), what colour would you expect their strip to be? A bright red maybe? Oh no - they wore their dark blue away strip (admittedly with red stockings). Ulster turned out in their normal white so it wasn't a colour clash issue.

Has the financial state of the Welsh regions got so bad they can only afford to wash one set of kit a week? :smt002
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

Not a bit like us wearing black for the HC when we already have a light and dark strip to avoid clashes.
Opportunities always look bigger going than coming.

Leicester's black kit is for the European competitions. My question is why wear your normal league away kit at home if your normal league home kit does not clash with what your visitors are wearing?

Isn't it an 'alternate' kit rather than 'away' kit

I very fed up the other week in the HC when Cardiff Blues were playing in a pinkish type kit and Exeter were playing in a dark blue kit, no matter how often I told myself it was Exeter in Blue I kept getting the teams mixed up. :smt011
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

This is the kit they were wearing. It is advertised as the away kit.

At least it is better than both teams wearing the same kit. Did you catch LI v Saints yesterday? Dark green against light green - the ref resorted to calling the Saints "yellow" (read in to that what you will!) :smt017

we had a game at Irish a few seasons ago when we were forced to play with our shirts inside out due to a clash of colours.
