I was not aware there was a five second rule at the maul, and I thought it had to be stopped twice?

it's rucks that have the 5 second rule.

Malls aren't as effective as they used to be in my mind mainly cos defences are far superior, that and you can tackle the player with ball as soon as he lands so it's harder to set a rolling mall directly from a line out

Refs also seem poor at penalising illegal entries and pull downs. Several mauls seen on TV this year already were pulled down illegally, yet nothing done (including the 'oh dear I seem to have fallen down in front of everyone's path' trick).

Interesting team - I see that Brookes was getting some plaudits up at Newcastle - it will be interesting to see how he copes withy his old Tutor in Boris

also can briggs hook better than Tom - I hope so!

I agree - after all there is seldom enough parking, the prices are worse than the high street, and the selection of shops poor. :smt001

Also the maul in rugby isn't as effective as it used to be either. :smt003

I hate you (clearly this is not serious before someone says so); but only cos you are right, and that's the sort of mistake that annoys me! :smt002 . Common usage and all that though....

Having said that you should support your local high street!

Another tbp victory, on paper it looks like a comprehensive victory. I couldn't make the game so didn't get to see it. Did anyone stand out? Will we be seeing more of Scully? How were our returning Lions? And in general did we play well?

Yes and it is strange there was not the usual posting of the action as it happened
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

5 points, job done, move on!! Hopefully there were no fresh injuries which means Cockers can pick his strongest available side vs. Exeter before 3 big games vs. Saints, Ulster and Treviso.

Job done but should have scored more
Not usually a fan, but I thought Dan Bowden had an outstanding game - best since he's been at Welford Road
Bowden, Tuillaghi & Goneva looked very handy :smt002

Been fishing again and didn't hear the game, but the result sounds just what we ordered, will catch the highlights later.

Convincing win, never really got out of 2nd gear though. best players for me were the two locks and two centres and also a special mention for Scully who had an assured debut.

Would've been disappointed to concede a try against their dross attack.
