I can recommend you a cocktail if you need to use up some of that bitters.

Oh and btw the extra 30M Euros the French will have would also buy most of the Irish International squad.
Still keeping the faith!

They wouldn't want our squad, they are rubbish and filled with Leinster deadwood.

Many a true word was said in jest!

They could also buy all the Irish members of the Ulster squad

So now what? Are we in or out? Looks like the French have stabbed us somewhat.

Games a bogey for the English clubs.

SRU, IRFU, WRU, FFR, FIR have all backed the ERC. Given that there's no way the IRB will back another cross border competition. The EU will not entertain a legal challenge as it doesn't like splits in governing bodies of sport.

So what now? We get refund on next seasons season ticket as we won't be in a European competition

Are we in or out? Out of the tournament as it is. We cannot go back in it as the contract with BT won't allow it

French stabbed us in the back- Typical French

Wow. The French have stabbed the English in the back. I'm so shocked I can hardly type.

Didn't see that one coming. No, honest, I didn't.

Think the welsh regions have yet to bail.
5 French teams have.
So you can make a competition out of 4 Welsh regions and 9 French clubs.

Of course the Welsh will have to split from their Union (lengthy court case..see you in 2025). And the French teams are probably reducing in number as we speak.

BT will probably let you out of the agreement tbf.

The body that is looking most damaged by all this is the RFU.
They've said nothing, provided no leadership and now all the other Unions have given up on talking to them.

I see nothing new here other than the RFU have also turned their backs on the ERC, the Unions after all are the ERC and they are fighting for their very survival. What the clubs do next could be interesting, it looks like a civil war could break out in France if the club owners say Non, this is far from over yet, sadly I think the rugby will be the loser if the FFR try to enforce something against the wishes of the clubs. The RFU have actually been quite canny saying nothing, I bet they are glad they weren't invited, they can now say it was nothing to do with us.

Alternatively one could think that they had shirked their responsibilities and shown themselves to be unreliable.

Or maybe that in English rugby it's the tail that wags the dog.

Statement from Premier Rugby is that preparations for the Champions Cup are ongoing regardless of tonight's statement (sorry I saw it on my phone app so can't post link)

What a mess
