Re: Wade to join up with the Lions
I''ll bet he is the star of the second and third Tests..
Re: Wade to join up with the Lions
He's certainly a great player - but, perhaps, not bulky enough for Gatland.
Smacks of Neil Back's battle to prove that you don't, necessarily, have to be big to be class? Ironiclally, wasn't the 'smack in the mouth' for the selectors, in the size debate, Backy'a performance for the Lions vs Australia in 2001?

Exactly as many have already posted on newspaper comment columns. We are not alone in seeing this dead hand!

Wasn't Twelvetrees brought over for the Lions to cover outside, inside and fly-half? Do they really need another inside centre?
I have to admit, I love a conspiracy (especially in a forum post ) - obviously the Sorries are peed that they're not as well represented as the Tigs

Re: Wade to join up with the Lions
Oh dear, a South African who hasn't played in 2 months has been called up. Matt Scott has been absolutely superb for Scotland recently and is having a blinder today, why not call him up? I don't get this decision at all. He isn't going to be anywhere near the 23 anyway so why not take someone who adds depth to a position we are weak in. Such as fly half. In the centres we have Tuilagi, Fazlet, Davies, BOD and 36. Whereas at fly half we only have Sexton and Fazlet with 36 f we're desperate. And if you are going to take a centre why not take someone who won't just make up the numbers. Oh dear, I really feel for Flood.

Great news for Wade. I hope when the EPS and Saxons squads are selected that Toby, AA. Crane and Tait are ignored by England. I think England should have Farrell, Burns and Ford as 10's and 12T and Barritt at 12 with Farrell covering 12.
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

Could Croft Parling Manu Cole and Youngs x2 be left out also?Smurphswillgetya wrote:Great news for Wade. I hope when the EPS and Saxons squads are selected that Toby, AA. It won't happen but just imagine a season when Tigers didn't lose international players, how many points would they top the table by?Bill W (2) wrote:Could Croft Parling Manu Cole and Youngs x2 be left out also?Smurphswillgetya wrote:Great news for Wade. EDIT: Marlon Yarde and Eastmond have played really well for England, with their obsession with RL converts maybe Manu will get ignored for Eastmond
Re: Wade to join up with the Lions
Barrett give me a break, wade is young and has talent but has only small 5 minutes of international experience, floody would have been the ideal choice, can play centre and is a world class fly half who can cover for sexton, gatland clearly isn't a fan, could be costly if things go pear shaped for sexton in the 1st test!!

Re: Wade to join up with the Lions
For me Yarde just showed he's a better all round player than Wade, playing off his wing, looking for work, looked really hungry for the ball and showed some vision.
