Croft and Tait

Post by sapajo »

A great win ultimately delivered by the best squad of players in the premiership full credit and thanks to all our Tigers you are magnificent. The victory was especially poignant for Matt Tait and Tom Croft. Taity making his first premiership final after being out in the wilderness for so long and returning from serious injury to be back to his brilliant best in a new position to boot and at last reward for his commitment, hard work and determination. Crofty now back at the top of his game after suffering a life changing injury that threatened to end his illustrious career, he is a seriously brave, talented and committed player such a richly deserved reward after his trauma.

Completely agree, let's hope we can say the same about Miles Benjamin next year. He will be like a new signing next year and will add to our great wings. We have Goneva, Morris, Thompstone, Camacho, Benjamin and Hamilton on the wing. We are blessed in that position.

So totally agree with this. It was truly wonderful to see Tait's huge smile during the post match celebrations - what a reward for guts and determination. Let's hope it's the first of many for him. :smt023

You have to congratulate cockers for a) spotting taits potential as a full back and b) sticking with him throughout all the time off through injury.

Don't like to mention it, but I told you so.

Well done Mathew, at last your talent, guts and hard-work are getting their reward. I expect a return to International honours will soon follow.

And agreed Tom Crofts return since that horrific injury has been sensational.

Croft is such a threat in many areas of the game a great talent. I first thought of Tait as too light weight when he was first signed, a talent, but small. That might still apply if he were still playing in the centre, but from wing or full back, he has room to move and show his skills and pace, another threat and real asset to the club.

Great post, fully agree that these two players are a wonderful part of the Tigers' squad. Croft's page and agility make him a very useful player in so many parts of the field. A game changing player.

Tait's skills in eye, hand and above all feet are great to see. His feet remind me of Jason Robinson's. I think that the new backs coaching team will help Tait to just get better and better. Perhaps he can emanate Geordan by being the first name on the teamsheet.

There have been several players that have been the backbone of our squad this year perhaps shown in our representatives in the team of the year. These two have been imense in the biggest games this year.
