Re: East Midlands Final
There was plenty of nice words from Saints fans on the unoffy, plenty of congratulations and good wishes in both directions.
Nothing I like more than beating our close rivals, but you have to say well done to them for beating the Sorries. Two good old clubs going at it, can't wait, lot's of passion from both sides and great for the Midlands.

Re: East Midlands Final
We should win but it's a one off game where past form and thoughts of other games count for nothing.
We should never have lost to Wasps in the European Cup final but we did.
They should never have beaten Sarries but they did.
I guess there will be a lot of Quins and Sarries tickets on eBay!

Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity

The Final we all wanted
Well done to Saints today giving us all what we wanted. Its just been confirmed on twitter that Tigers are the 'home' team on the 25th and will be playing in green.
Quite good really as we haven't got a change shirt atm

Re: East Midlands Final - the wanted final!!
Agree with Mol2, Tigerbeat & fortysix here.......
it's a one off game and you never know what will happen: we had lost our last three to Sequins but trounced them yesterday when they were probably favourites. No one fancied Stains for today but they won comfortably, in particular dominating the line out
As for the ref, agree with Tigerbeat but I hope he's wrong!! Thought messrs Garner & Doyle did a good job in both games so would be happy with either. Did have a few moans live from the Goldsmiths yesterday but having watched the replay thought Garner was spot on with most things in hindsight, and thought JPD was even better today.
Now here's my dilemma....advice please:-
a) It's my (ie our) 28th wedding anniversary on May 25th
b) we are out to dinner locally in Aylesbury @ 7 pm that evening
c) it's my cricket club's 150th anniversary ball on the Sunday night May 26th and as Chairman I am supposed to be responsible, organise and make sure all last minute details are attended to
d) Should I go, or Shiraz in hand watch from the sofa ?
Answers on a postcard please..........

Great final fixture. I will be at a wedding reception in a field in Dorset, albeit with a significant number of Tigers' fans. Hmmm.

Will Saints have that one percent to win a one-off game? Dont forget this is only their third meaningful final and their first ever one to try and be the Champions in their whole history. It means that for their players and fans it could be their one time in life opportunity! Could make a difference.
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

UMHO this is a must win for Tigers.
To lose to Saints would be totally unnacceptable.

Re: East Midlands Final - the wanted final!!
I would have preferred Sarries in the final. Firstly so that we could have stuffed them on one of their home grounds. Secondly if Saints fluke it in the final some of my colleagues will be unbearable.as they are Saints supporters and this would be once in a lifetime achievement for them never to be repeated!

No problem - get the best of both worlds: you go to the match and send the spouse out to the dinner in Aylesbury.tigercaspian wrote:Agree with Mol2, Tigerbeat & fortysix here.......

Mind you - expected response to suggestion -->

Re: East Midlands Final - the wanted final!!
A few comments making comparisons between Tigers and Saints’ backs and forwards but surely one of our biggest advantages is the strength of our bench?
Keep it tight in the first half, wear them out, don’t upset the referee, pull away in the second half.

I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

Tigers have an air about them just now, there's no sign of weakness or compromise, there seems to be a steely determination that was missing earlier in the season and we are stringing together some great passages of play. Discipline will again be key to this outcome and we are now showing we are getting better in that department too, just need Toby to fine tune his place kicking radar and all will be well.
