Funny ole thing sport how you can soon be forgotten. Great player and who knows how long he could have been on the scene bar injury,

I believe Harry is down to play in Deac's testimonial match next month.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

I'm looking forward to that rather more than I ought.

Partly because these are often more fun to watch than games when the need not to lose is paramount, and partly just to check in on those who feel like old friends.

Either way it'll be good to see Harry with his boots on.

Still angry at the Welsh stamp that gave him the injury and then Tigers playing him with it.

Anyone know when Harry first picked up his knee injury ?
To quote Ray Gravell - You've got to get your first tackle in early, even if it's late.

Owain Glyndŵr now he was a man of vision.

I thought Bristol in the 2007 SF but I hope JG will enlighten.
I am neither clever enough to understand nor stupid enough to play this game

The Ospreys lock Evans back heeled him from a maul after the whistle had gone and dislocated his knee cap. Can't remember the year but think it was in 2004. I vaguely remember it being a cheap shot!
He then had some ligament trouble over the years cumulating in it finally going (cruciate ligament) versus Bristol at home in 2007.
Quite a common injury in both rugby and soccer which is difficult to repair. Some players recover well such as Mike Phillips and Charlie Hodgson but in Harry's case a number of injuries to the same knee finished his playing career at age 27 years.

Most players recover from cruiciate surgery but I heard that Harry's knee got infected after the op, a rare but destructive complication.

Was it caused by the snide kick by the Ospreys player I guess we won't know for sure as, like all players, he will have been hit so many times in tackles, it's very difficult to know if it was the cause or simply the final straw, so to speak.

Getting injured is a hazard of contact sports but it's no badge of honor to destroy another player's career by foul play.
