Not sure, I read that as the organisers denying they have whittled down the long list of 17 stadia (WR not on it) to the short list of 12.

Still, we can always live in hope. It's a nice place at this time of year I hear.

When hell freezes over - no chance.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

I thought the ground was being expanded to 30,000. Surely this would take us up to a World Cup standard stadium?

Its not to do with the stadium size but the pitch size.

Welford road is a few metres short.

Oh well can't be helped then. Is there any word on the expansion of the stadium? Is any work being done this summer?

My extended family and I had planned to see a game at Welford Road in the RWC. Didnt matter who was playing, just had to be at Welford Road. We think there would have been about 14-20 of us including some newbies to rugby.
RFU as they say at twickers.

King Power stadium has 4 games so not far to go to see something. Also Stadium at MK and either Aston Villa or Coventry. Surely there will be the chance for us all to get to see some games during the RWC? Gloucester the only club ground being used.

Still very bitter about Leicester's snub! Watching any sport at the walkers is a terrible experience. I think its an insult to Tigers. Especially after all Tigers have done for the national cause!

Judging by the financial news that came out about citys loss, would it be wise to starve them of possibly four weeks of playing away?
I cant understand playing group games in the football stadia's when there will be club rugby grounds empty and not used for this period.
Football is going to be carrying on, but the competitive rugby stops,
makes no logical sense but only a financial one for the organisers.

Given the chance I personally wouldnt miss a world cup at the Crisp Bowl, it is still our City and as if its not going to be held at WR then its the next best thing for us. It wont bring as much excitement but thats not to say it wont bring an exciting game of rugby to watch.
