Thank you Richard.....time to move on
Nothing if not predictable tonight.
Time for someone who can get more from the squad, not less..

Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
For me I have always been a supporter of RC but tonight in his interview with radio leicester it was like he was trying to find an excuse for why we lost. He blamed the fact that we had players away for england rather than the fact that we were simply poor in the second half, some sort of coahing shake up needs to occur but I'm not sure that means getting rid of RC..I just don't know...I;'m a very disappointed tigers fan right now.

I'm not so sure.
The performances are certainly within this team, as the first half or this and last weeks games show. The grit is still there as shown by performances like against Ospreys and Toulouse. However, something isn't right when we capitulate like we have in the last 2 games (and other times this season, like Toulouse away).
There isn't much of a difference between turning these 40 minute performances into 80, but I can't put my finger on exactly what.

Time to sweep the Stygian Stables then.
Need a coach that can make more of the talent we have. The struggle in the second tier of rugby and maybe in the third tier of rugby.

Cant help thinking that it was the players decisions that cost us today.
Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
Players capitulated due to fatigue!
we did not have the depth available to cope.
RC is not responsible for the amount of internationals and injuries.
If premiership rugby is to not become a joke then internationals need to be played when there are no premiership games.
Simple as that

Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
Sarries showed a great desire to win. Tigers didn't have enough desire to defend their patch. Some of the players did well. Mulipola made some excellent runs but offered little else. Crane gave 100%. Salvi does an incredible job in disrupting the opposition but it's often in vain if he has no back up. Thompstone is very promising. Apart from these the heart seems missing when the internationals are away. Any team can lose a game or two of rugby but to be in the winning position and let it slip again and again shows a lack of heart. Tigers are a good squad and all are talented but many of them are missing something very important IMO, a desperate desire to win at all costs. The boys that are off with England have it, that's why they are away. We need to find more rugby players and less professionals. The annual merry-go-round doesn't help nowadays. Bringing promising players up would be better than risking the continuity of the club during these periods. I canno't remember the last time I saw a player get knocked out after scrapping so hard to win the ball. We used to see it regularly and that was the kind of desire that won things, we need more of it!The performances are certainly within this team, as the first half or this and last weeks games show. There have been excellent bursts of play all season, for example playing well vs. Ospreys for about 25 minutes of the two games against them, but the lack of an 80 minute performance is worrying. There was one against Toulouse which was a must win game hopefully now we are in to "must win" territory the players will start playing as they did last year. IMO a new attack coach (Gibson/ Mauger/ Murphy) is needed while a defence/ breakdown specialist is a must.
Anyway I would be amazed if RC goes and I'm not convinced he should. The people that matter seem content with how things are. I have no inside knowledge that's just the impression I get.
Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
Too often after a game we say that if they put together an 80 minute performance someone will get a thrashing. Why have we not managed a decent 80 all season? It will be no use seeing everything fall in to place once Quins and Sarries have booked their places at Twickenham.
I hope the people that matter are not content with things as they are, I hope they are seriously off and are starting to ask questions.

Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
surely its cockers who assembles the squad knowing full well we have autumn internationals and the 6 nations during a season which, not surprisingly, the best players get picked for. someone said sarries have got a squad to combat that so if our wage budget is the same why havnt we?
do we get more foreigners? ex internationals who are out of contention? we cant keep blaming the ref, or injuries, or call ups!
look at yourself first man!!!
and i think the desire to win is missing but also the style of our play is now really the only joke. i wasnt even angry or disappointed watching us fall apart last night because its just becoming routine and that alone is reason enough, for me, to seriously have a look at who we want leading this club forward on the playing side. cockers just isnt the right person and the coaching team just arnt good enough either!

Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
I've not been one for wanting to hang RC out to dry, but I'm afraid that yesterday was the straw that broke the camels back.
If you don't have faith in players to play in the big games then they should not be on the books in the first place.
The players that started yesterday were out on their feet after about an hour and needed some fresh legs. Brookes is an England Saxon for crying out loud so why not use him to freshen up the front row?! Balmain has been excellent when we've had fleeting glimpses of him in action and a number of fans have been crying out to see him in a big game - yesterday was a prime opportunity missed. I think that some of the supporters would be slightly less miffed had we lost and tried things.
As someone said earlier though, if RC does go, to where would we turn?

Butler 8 is spot on--when a diehard supporter doesnt even snap at the wife( actually she was asleep as I taped it) when Tigers have one of their very frequent off days, then the writing is on the wall...
I do not believe the Twin Petes will change from Cockerill so we had all better get used to seeing primeval dross served up...with occasional Healey type bursts of fantastic interaction, once in a blue moon to keep our appetites whetted.
The doom slayers who had a pop over suggestions we will be lucky to get a top four must be a tad concerned.......

Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
I think the question is has cockers taken us as far as he can, I think he has, the last few seasons have pretty much paralleled each other, it is a results game and sadly we have come up wanting at the vital moments in games, the refs have always been against leicester but we use to dispatch teams leaving the refs decisions irrelevant to the final score, I think changes are needed for the tigers to progress back to the top team in England and a European contender, to keep it in the tigers family the only person who matches the criteria is MJ.
Re: Thank you Richard.....time to move on
Strangely MJ was the messiah for english rugby until the wheels came off that religion and now he is suddenly the Tigers messiah? What evidence is there that MJ can actually do a better job than RC?baz1664 wrote:I think the question is has cockers taken us as far as he can, I think he has, the last few seasons have pretty much paralleled each other, it is a results game and sadly we have come up wanting at the vital moments in games, the refs have always been against leicester but we use to dispatch teams leaving the refs decisions irrelevant to the final score, I think changes are needed for the tigers to progress back to the top team in England and a European contender, to keep it in the tigers family the only person who matches the criteria is MJ.
Without hope we are nothing, keep the faith, a Tiger for eternity
