No offence meant, that sounded flippant, sorry.TigerLad wrote:I meant will they be the first family to have a father and two sons all play 100 games for Tigers?Grannyman wrote:Yes, otherwise the Smiths wouldn't be the first father-son 100.TigerLad wrote:Well done Matt! Many people don't seem to rate him but he would get into most premiership teams. When Tom Youngs reaches 100 games will the Youngs family be the only family to have two sons and a father play 100 games for Tigers?

From the Tigers official Facebook page.
"Matt Smith's shirt hangs in the changing room ahead of his 100th start for Tigers today. He will follow his dad Ian in making 100 starts for the club, becoming the first father-and-son combination to achieve this feat in Tigers' 133-year history"

Re: Well done Matt Smith
Normally don't stay after the game but well worth it to pay tribute to the father and son. Well done to Smith. Even when others were knocking him I said he is what a true Tiger's player is. The lad plays for the shirt and never gives less than 100%. Some on here referred to him as Cockers love-child etc which was unkind, I hope they have the guts to apologise. Players like Smith and Allen may not be superstars but without players like them this club would not be the great club it is. Even our superstars such as Murphy and Flood are humble and put the club first.
I wish Matt Smith a long and fruitful Tigers career. Roll on the next 100 appearances.
