Most underrated Tigers player

Post by Mpegg44 »

Just want to get a feel as to who Tigers fans think is the clubs most underrated player, someone who either deserves more starts or never gets a look in for Man of the Match?

Slater.

Similar to the Deacons, younger and therefore with more potential, and prepared to act as enforcer.

Matt Smith without doubt.

Slater and Smith for me. Slater is a potential international monster IMO, a real talent, but as everyone knows, boringly, I see him as a Parisse-style 8.

Allen - a controversial choice, maybe, but he is reliable and regularly shows he is also skilful and creative. He reads the game very well, too.

I also think that Ayerza is underrated, although he needs more game time to get back to his best

Matt Smith, his defense is great and he is surprisingly fast. I cant remember the last time he let the team down which is the sign of a good player.

Matt Smith for me, though I think he's got one MOM this season.

Didn't Slater get MOM versus Sale too? :smt003

Two excellent players though.

Morris: good to see him getting some game time this season. Even Geordan Murphy earned his stripes on the wing in the main before moving full time to 15 when Stimmo left. :smt001

Smith for certain, to the extent that he'll almost certainly leave next time his contract's up. Nobody that talented and hard-working deserves to be fighting for a bench place.

Matt Smith for me, From what I remember he never lets the team down. His defense is outstanding, when he wrestled Ashton out of touch (last season?) when ashton was almost certain to score, pure class. His smart grubber through for thompstone a few week back. IMO he is a class act, tigers through and through, and gives it his all everytime he plays.

Slater and Allen always do a job aswell.
Ayerza is internationally underated aswell.

AA

Slater is more "visible", but AA's work rate is phenomenal.

Matt Smith too valuable to collect splinters.
