It was my fault

Post by iceman_19 »

My record of seeing Tigers play in finals at Twickenham now stands at 5 matches seen, 5 matches lost. Wasps twice (one prem, one HC final), Sale, Saracens and now Quins. Actually I could argue 6 as I seem to remember seeing a Tigers v the Rest of the World XV at Twickenham when I was very young, which we also lost. In fact, now I come to think of it, I was also there when we lost the Pilkington Cup final to Bath (thanks Steve Lander). So in summary, 7 matches seen, 7 matches lost. I'm sorry - it was selfish of me to go. I have now barred myself from attending future Tigers games at HQ.

The reason I've started this thread is to see if anyone has as bad a record as me?

I fully accept being the victim of a blame/hate campaign instead of Cockerill/MOC/Tuilagis.

Don't stop going! One day you'll see Tigers win at Twickenham and it will all have been worth it.

You think you've got a bad record at HQ, I'm an Osprellian Leicster supporter how about this for a losing record:
98: Eng v Wal (5 Nations: Lost
99: Tigers v BaaBaas: Lost
00: Eng v Wal (6 Nations): Lost
00: Saints v Munster (H Cup Final: Lost
00: Tigers v BaaBaas: Lost
05: Tigers v Wasps (Premiership Final: Lost
07: Ospreys v Tigers (EDF Final): Lost
07: Tigers v Wasps (H Cup Final): Lost
08: Ospreys v Tigers (EDF Final): WON
10: Tigers v Sarries (Premiership Final): WON
11: Eng v Fra (6 Nations): Lost
12: Eng v Ire (6 Nations): Lost
12: Tigers v Quins (Premiership Final): Lost

13 Visits - 2 wins. The wins however are priceless, even though I can only remember the Premiership win against Sarries.

Yes don't go to Twickers. Golden rule only go to Cardiff to watch Tigers.

Where I saw them lose to Brive in the HC. Deano et al looked as though they had turned up for training thinking the game was tomorrow.

Ditto - but I did enjoy the Heineken semi-final especially as we were at the penalty shoot-out end!

Perhaps the rule is only go to Cardiff Millennium Stadium ...

I blame the mascots.

Quins were clearly cheating by having 2 mascots against our one, although I was a little concerned to see their 2 'wrestling' together in an 'un-manly' way.
Was expecting David Attenborough to come over the tannoy with a suitable commentary.......
