Away kit for the final??

Post by hooking_king »

I assume, if Quins are awarded 'home team' status for the final, we will be playing in our away shirt (as we did in the 34-43 win last month, just thought I'd pop that in). Canterbury will definitely want the brand exposure so they will be releasing the new away shirt (assumption). I imagine it'll just be for the players, not for general release, I for one would like to be wearing the colours of the team on the day. Any idea when we get confirmation of shirts to be worn?

With the new shirt I don't know that any chage strip is required. The predominant colour is green and I don't think think there is any green in the Hairy Queens kit.

You're right MJ, they do only have a bit of green on their shoulder and under their arms. It shouldn't be an issue.

I expect we will wear the home shirt - after all both teams did in the last two finals. It was only against LI where they wear green that we had a (alleged) clash - a load of :censored: in my opinion.

If we do have to change, and don't have the new kit, my vote is definitely for the white European Cup strip.

I can't believe that Canterbury would be willing to allow Cotton Traders any exposure in the final. The club now officially wear Canterbury, if we beat Quins, Canterbury will want the players in their shirts for the photos with the trophy. If we are forced to wear an away shirt Canterbury will definitely have it in the armoury ready for the final.

Of course the one thing that really mustn't happen is that Quins be deprived of their hard-won right to wear their shirts. It should never have happened to us and shouldn't happen to them. There is little enough reward for coming first

Keeping the Tiger stripes or does the style change as well? I am very jealous that some people may have seen the shirt already!

Cardiff Blues RFC are staying Cardiff Blues.

IIRC Cardiff City FC are proposing ditching the Blue colour and the Bluebird on the badge as part of an investment deal. Aparently after their nearmisses in the League Cup and Playoff the investors from the far east feel red would be a luckyer colour and a badge with a Dragon on it would be more marketable.

Harlequins are top seeds & have the right to play in their home strip if there is deemed to be a colour clash, but will there be?

In order to avoid any colour in the Quins shirt would be difficult. Yellow or orange?
