Re: Teams Up For The Semi
Good news on Flood and Salvi!
However I wouldn't be surprised if one or both don't make it onto the field tomorrow. I'm sure there will be late fitness tests involved; let's hope my pessimism is unfounded!
Otherwise we look to be stronger in the pack and the backs so I'm feeling quietly confident...!!

Re: Teams Up For The Semi
Better to see George Ford at 10 than a half fit Toby?.
Re: Teams Up For The Semi

I will eat my hat if this is the 15 that starts for Tigers... and take pleasure in doing so.
It would a great if both Flood, and particularly Salvi, starts but....
No pointing in worrying on it though .. we just have to trust the squad.

Just listening to the Podcast of 5Live's rugby programme broadcast last night and it appears that George Ford has been told he is playing tomorrow - or at least according to his Father he is (cats out of bags!!)
But as stated earlier, better George than a half fit Toby and Billy gives great cover from the bench.
No word on Salvi.

Re: Teams Up For The Semi
Given the choice I would rather Salvi be fit than Flood. Ford would never let us down and his tactical kicking may actually help as Saracens will be keen to keep us pegged in our own half and wait for any penalties. Having Salvi fit however is crucial as superiority in the backrow is a must.
Re: Teams Up For The Semi
So even after (prior to Bath) five league games where he personally scored 91 points and we scored an average of 5 tries a game, some still think Flood is less important than Salvi?
Salvi's played very well, but to suggest that Flood (who's currently clearly the best English fly half on form) is less important is ridiculous.

I'd rather have Salvi fit than Flood, if it were a choice. Not a slight on Flood as you seem to be taking it but rather a compliment to Ford - I think the drop in quality between them is less than between Salvi and Newby (who for all his commitment is only cover at 7), hence needing Salvi more than Flood.Jose wrote:So even after (prior to Bath) five league games where he personally scored 91 points and we scored an average of 5 tries a game, some still think Flood is less important than Salvi?
