GLOUCESTER the most passionate fans?!

Post by andysum »

I note from the Aviva premiership website that scientists reckon GLOUCESTER fans are the most passionate in the premiership. This was deduced by scientists doing tests on samples on groups of fans from all premiership clubs and then putting in to a formulae that draws from lots of data. This data includes heart rates and hormone release through saliva samples. This is where I think the data may have been compromised, and render the results invalid. Many of the Gloucester supporters I've seen are dribbling all the time, and this MUST skew the results?!

I saw these results printed in a certain paper. Dreadful attempt at quasi-scientific research by non-scientists with too much time. I imagine Newcastle fans 'll be pretty insulted, according to these results they are by far the least loyal team, I guess we'll see from the stadium attendances next year i s'pose...

The key thing is they turn out in large numbers at Welford Road,I think all the teams in the UK would like to have our fans for every home game, even if they can be a tad quiet at times. As the old Frankie Howerd joke went,we will have to get those in the posh seats to rattle their jewelry if they'g rather not clap and cheer.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

They turn out in large numbers at Lourdes but sadly there is more passion there than at Weford road sometimes

ive always thought that Gloucester fans most resemble football fans .

dont like the eeeh-aaaw thet they come out with when players miss kicks , drop balls etc . unfortunately that has crept in a tiny bit on the crumbie terrace this season , something which i feel , we could do without

I'm not a fan of Eee - aw either but we need a lot more of the shedheads passion from a lot more of our supporters if we wish to make WR the imprgnable fortress it once was

I read the article. I think the sample only took 15 fans from each premiership club which seems stupidly low to get any sort of representation. To be fair though they couldn't make the sample sizes any larger as 15 fans represented the total Saracens crowd! Results showed that they the Saracens fans all slept peacefully throughout their games :smt003

I've got customers in Gloucester, and nothing ever happens there. They still point at aircraft.

I imagine that watching rugby is the only way they get to release any adrenaline.

Be fair, topping this table is the only one that Glors had any chance of.

It's a fair point actually - If they get that excited by the dross they have to watch week in week out just imagine how extatic the would become if they actually won anything! They would need medical treatment at the ground - The sales of Tranks in Gloucester would go through the roof!
