I love the idea that rugby fans learned to chant "eee-aw" from football fans.
Oh yes, us football fans would always shout "eee-aw" when some soccer player dropped the ball.
And we would always shout "eee-aw" when someone tried to kick the ball over the bar and failed to do so.
But those events never happen in football do they?
Is it possible for anyone on this site to refer to misbehavious by rugby fans or rugby players without mentioning football?
I have stood at the "wrong end" watching football at Ipswich, Notts County, Lyon, Malmoe, Leeds.... (I could go on but I won't) and have not felt the least bit intimidated.
So if Gloucester Fans and the Shed are intimidating then it is a rugby problem and not some football problem that has spread like a virus. As it says in the Bible, put your own house in order.

Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!
Re: GLOUCESTER the most passionate fans?!
The whole study was contaminated.
They measured the Glaws fans just as a shining new tractor went past pulling a flatbed full of sheep.
The Tigers fans had just had their soup and were sleeping it off under their tartan rugs.
The Saffacens result was averaged out from a dossing tramp caught on their empty terraces.
None of the Saints were available, they were all visiting their players in prison.

Agreed we can be a bit quiet at times but what we need most is a couple of decent chants or songs to wake us up. I've only ever heard two, and they both involve repeated use of the word 'Tigers' .
Try this for an away fixture next season (you should know the tune) :-
"Oh when the Saints, they lose at home,
Oh when the Saints they lose at home,
I want to be in that tunnel
Oh when the Saints they lose at home"
Can't think how we missed this the other week !!
Any one else got any other ideas ??

Re: GLOUCESTER the most passionate fans?!
I have NEVER felt intimidated in the shed and I have stood there many times and been nothing but impressed but their enthusiasm - They have a little dig at those of us in a Tigers shirt but nothing to be worried about.
I remember standing in the shed one rain soaked friday night a few years ago, the night before an England international, and we (our second string)were taking a beating - (although Dave Loughheed was playing a blinder if I recall)
"you're f..g useless TOIGERs shouted out a shedhead at the top of his voice"
straight back quick as you like my mate (who has a very loud voice ) shouted
"this ain't Tigers - you can see Tigers playing a Twikenham tomorrow if you like"
around us they all laughed in a kind of groaning grudging respect sort if way
There is nothing wrong with the shedheads, they are harmless enough - need a brain between them obviously, but other wise very balanced (a chip on both shoulders)

You mean like Kingsholm is?mightymouse wrote:I'm not a fan of Eee - aw either but we need a lot more of the shedheads passion from a lot more of our supporters if we wish to make WR the imprgnable fortress it once was
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
