Both very well deserved, well done lads.

Also with Matt SMith coming second to Steve Mafi it shows how much he is valued by the players :smt023
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.

Well done Steve, much deserved!

Not bad for a player who didn't make the original shortlist for the supporters' player of the year award :smt023

Great to be given these awards, I'm sure, but what does it mean? Do they get a pay rise or a trophy, or is it just a title they can use on their future CVs?

Well if you want to give it a monetary aspect the article says Steve received an IWC Big Pilot watch as his prize, it didn't say which model...

Of course there is then the 'kudos' (for want of a better term) of being voted for by your team mates, and I guess there is also bit of bargaining power when it comes to future contracts, with Tigers or any other team.

There is also pressure to continuing performing at that high standard....and not let it go to your head, I'm sure he won't get big headed about it.

Well, that is a high value watch. Well worth winning. Previously I'd always thought that the Players Player of the Year was something that Under 12 football teams went for. Thanks for info Whitecap.
