Oh no, the new strip is awful. Not quite as silly as some of the french kits but pretty close

Re: new kit blog from Canterbury
Dear moderators, is there any chance we could have a poll on the new home strip? We've the best part of 12 pages of comments so it might be easier to see at a glance the general feeling towards it.
Possible options being:
Love it - definitely buying it
OK for the players but not for me
Wouldn't be seen dead in it

Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

First option for me

The only redeeming feature of the kit is that it is not PINK but as was pointed out wait for the away strip!

Just done a quick total up from page 5 of this thread. From reading between some peoples views for those who didnt specifically say, I think it is 28-25 against the shirt with about 4 undecided.
This though is not an exact science!!! I still don't like it 24 hours later.

The two "staid" shirts we've had for the past 3 years are the closest we've had to the traditional tigers kit since the late 90s - ans it was about time too. The ones before, with various themes on the variation of horizontal stripes (or not in one case), were the worst!Snowdrop wrote:Something a little different, not the staid shirts we have been used to recently.

Happiness is an outmoded concept! The shirt reeks of commercialism and branding. IMHO those who spend money on this rubbish are endorsing a sell-out of traditional values.

Well thanks for that - I was actually really only meaning you saying Tigerburnie (and by association others) had more money than sense sounded pompous IMO. Each to their own I guess, though you appear to not buy into that concept.Big Dai wrote:Happiness is an outmoded concept! The shirt reeks of commercialism and branding. No more 'branding' than any other shirt for the last few years I reckon, unless of course you consider the 'bib' to be nothing more than a 'look at Caterpillar' device, or the tiger print effect of the stripes on the 'test' and 'pro' shirt to be OTT. I've ordered one, in fact I pre-ordered it without seeing it, bit shocked - pleasantly so as it goes - but certainly not disappointed. Nice to know I've contributed to the downfall of Tigers and rugby in general, maybe civilisation as we know it will follow, but i'll lose no sleep, far far more important and generally depressing/serious things going on in the (my) World than a rugby shirt design upsetting people.
For years I couldn't justify the expense of rugby shirts, often buying them several years after they'd become obsolete for a knock down price. Tigers are my one unashamed vice in life, I do not feel exploited or dirty for chucking some money at them when I am finally in a position to indulge.
And I voted option 1 by the way. time for a shower to completely cleanse myself.

What a mess.
Keep hearing that its 'modern' well i'm 25, quite into my clothes and this is hideous. Will be interested to see if any of the lads at the club I play for invest... I can see a bit of banter going on with that 'bib' on the front especially with the front row lads!
Only really wear my shirt on match days and have been very happy with the shirt design/general kit (not the away!) for the past few seasons. Traditional, distinctive, smart. Like all of the best shirts i.e. the All Blacks why change the formula?
Was quite pleased when I heard Canterbury were coming on board generally like their stuff. Was there a competition for children to design this shirt?
At least we can pick up this seasons shirts on the cheap now! will need to last a couple of seasons
