As I've posted before, I have spoken with supporters of Stains, Exeter and Wuss - they all think Tigers are bonkers, but both the Wuss and Stains fans were delighted that he didn't have a contract as they see it as an opportunity for other clubs to acquire a gem.

But the fact that he hasn't got a contract with anyone else in the premiership (im assuming it would have be announced by somebody by now) shows that its not just Tigers though - any club has been able to approach him since January as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

I am probably way way off mark but could he have signed a pre contract with us for the 13/14 season? Its odd he has not been snapped up by someone

I very much doubt it as RC has said he hasn't been offered anything. There are usually rumours about player movements and i've heard nothing about Agulla heading to another premiership side.

They are right. RC is absolutely bonkers to let him go.
Clearly, the overwhelming wish of the supporters is that he should stay.
Obviously that doesn't count for much these days.

No it doesn't because supporters think with their hearts not their heads and don't have to take a salary cap into account.

Maybe the supporters should use the same attitude to buying season tickets?

By all means do if that indicates how narrow your level of support is.

MJC, with respect, you are using the Salary Cap as a convenient excuse.

I'm trying not to Bill. At the end of the day it is a professional game. If it had not gone Professional we would never have got to see the high level of international players in tigers colours that we have. Howard, Kronfeld, Castro to name 3.
Part of that professional game is making hard nosed decisions as in any business, which Cockers has had to do in this case with Agulla. What he has also done is bring in 3 replacement players that he coaching staff will look to use to fill Horace and Alex's boots. I personally have great hope for Benjamin, when he starts getting a regular supply of quality pill.
For people to start suggesting that Cockers should be embarrassed, or they are not going to renew their season tickets because of the situation is frankly ridiculous.

Ahhh the old "your not a real supporter if you don't buy in to the coach's
activities" line.
Just what are you the chairman of?

I hope you're embarrassed by that remark. :smt009

On the latter point I concur totally.

On the former I am not so sure!

So you think that not offering the player, the supporters believe was the
outstanding star of the season, a new contract, for whatever reason is NOT embarrassing
to Cockers?
The reason so many of us voted for him as player of the season was to make a
point and yes he should be deeply embarrassed.
My point about season ticket holders was made because you seemed to state that
he is not remotely concerned about the opinion of the supporters.
No we are not going to not renew over this but when you claim it is only about money
in the form of the SC, what other course of action could we take if opinions don't count?

No what I am saying and have said is that in making this decision Cockers has had to take into account the best interests of the team he is paid a decent salary to run. If it happens to be that that decision goes against the opinions of the supporters who voted him player of the season, which I'm guessing stands at less than 10% then so be it.
I'll say again he has to make the best business decision.
