Parking for Franklin Gardens

Post by pipkoi »

Hi
We are going to Saints on Saturday for the 1st time.
Please could people advise where we will be able to park as near to the ground as possible, due to mobility issues.
Saints have said "there is plenty of parking around the ground" but n clues would be helpful
Thanks & Come n Tigers, bonus point win please :smt002

Hi. We go to Saints every year and there are lots of options for parking. It all depends on what time you get there. If you get there about 2 hours before kick off there is street parking near Church's Shoes which is on the right if you drive past the Saints ground having come from the M1. If you are later there are various car parks at various prices. Last time we parked in the railway station which is about a 10-15 minute walk away from the ground but as we go back home through Market Harborough this is an easy escape route after the game, but might not be so good if you need to go back past the ground to the M1. Hope this helps and enjoy the game. There's good food, hog roasts, etc at the ground if you want food and a pint.

yes - agree with all the above. If you drive past the ground (with it being on your left) you will see signs for some big car parks within 500m or so - they actually link to the back of the ground and are near the football ground - can be a bit of a sod after the match but still OK. Inside the ground is excellent for food and drink and banter....

Thanks for the replies. Very helpful & looking forward to trying the hog roast! We usually get to the ground a couple of hours before kick off so it sounds as though we should be ok
Really looking forward to a close, fiercely contested match

pipkoi - if you are going to be there that early and mobility is an issue the official club carpark is your best bet, they are well signpoted as you approach st james (especially from m1)and its pretty level from the car parks to the village (where the beer /food / sweets are)and the stadium concourse. as has been said its not usually a quick getaway though (the bars do stay open for visitors to drown their sorrows though :smt002 )

for all travellers - the footy club are also playing a home match on saturday, slightly later kickoff at 3pm but it will still mean parking etc at sixfields will get competitive so allow yourselves plenty of time. thats cobblers? no,its true, i tell you!

personally i will be getting the bus from part ofthe parish and am thinking will be at the becket by 12:30. maybe see some of you there.

i hope you all have safe journies and a lovely day apart from the match itself :smt023
if you are happy and you know it, you are unusual.
