Re: McGeechan Out
No surprise--if you were a Bath supporter you would be absolutely furious at the dross that has been purchased , either has beens or never beens--or players looking for a final pay-off......
And as for any self respecting Premiership coach expecting to compete with a front row that is the weakest by miles in both the Premier and the Championship ---well, he deserves his fate...
Ironical that Stevens--another totally useless prop--came from Bath

Re: McGeechan Out
When ESPN televised our game against Irish both Ben and Austin implied that Catt and Booth are off there.
Re: McGeechan Out
Is it Geechs fault?
Or maybe an Abramovich type owner who believes cash alone can buy success?
Standby for a big name succesor, probably entirely unsuitable, rather than someone who understands the club and could build success.

Re: McGeechan Out
I haven't been particularly impressed with Geech at Bath, they have had some woeful performances under his tenure and he rarely comes out to explain in post match interviews. It is regularly Martin Haag that has to come out and offer an apology and an explanation to the fans.

Less is more....
Re: McGeechan Out
Catt would seem to be a good fit. Mullins and Gold both rumoured to be in the frame.
If I was a Bath supporter, I would be concerned if Booth came as head honcho - he seems to have difficulties retaining players, and motivating them.
I wonder about a Catt / Dean Ryan combo; technically strong, and I suspect the culture would go well there, despite Ryan's Glaws connections, where it obviously didn't.

Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Are you including Lewis Moody, Sam Vesty and Dan Hipkiss in this statement Norfolk?norfolkexpat wrote:No surprise--if you were a Bath supporter you would be absolutely furious at the dross that has been purchased , either has beens or never beens--or players looking for a final pay-off......
Re: McGeechan Out
Taking away our natural bias as Tigers supporters towards these players, then yes they were at best politely put as very average signings for Bath, or any premiership club aspiring to be successful.Nailsworthstiger wrote:Are you including Lewis Moody, Sam Vesty and Dan Hipkiss in this statement Norfolk?norfolkexpat wrote:No surprise--if you were a Bath supporter you would be absolutely furious at the dross that has been purchased , either has beens or never beens--or players looking for a final pay-off......
Lewis was physically well past his best even before his final knee and shoulder injuries. Sam is a decent enough squad player at premiership level. Dan, for whatever reason had not gone and developed as it looked like he might.
Sentiment aside, Tigers IMHO made the correct decision to release all 3 players.

The reason I asked is that it is normal practice for the person initiating the thread to provide a link and therefore proof of the story's veracity. Otherwise anybody can make any statement and start a bogus thread.G.K wrote:Now what was that about fish and fishing rods again<Bunchy wrote:I will respond in BJ styleBJ. wrote: No link to the story?

What has happened to Hipkiss - does he actually ever play for them or is he always injured still?

Re: McGeechan Out
Hipkiss played against Saints at the weekend, 1st game back from injury I believe, at least I think I heard them say that on commentary. Looked a bit rusty as expected but not too bad to me, carried as he did at tigers, stayed on his feet, even made a break or two........just didn't have Tigers around him for support. And he didn't pass muchmightymouse wrote:What has happened to Hipkiss - does he actually ever play for them or is he always injured still?
Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens.
