This is why a ban should cover the number of games not a specific period of time.

Disgraceful, in reality this is a 12 week ban.
12 weeks for inflicting an injury that could destroy a players career, the RFU should have made an example of him.

I hope Tigers now sue for career damages on Hawkins behalf.
Leicester Tigers 1995-
Nottingham 1995-2000
Swansea (Whites) 1988-95
A game played on grass in the open air by teams of XV.

Would be a very interesting legal case.

Very bad for the game and for the RFU. And for HHJ J Blackett.

Damages likely to be assessed at between £100K and £1M+

IMHO Hawkins (and Tigers) should go for it.

precedent in the Rougerie vs Wasps case - 3 operations and 3 months out got him £60,000 I believe

One assumes Lancaster will now publicly remove Clark from the Elite Squad?

Permanently?

it's a disgrace. as others have said, any ban should be for the number of games. He now gets a nice summer holiday, back pretty early on next season and that is meant to be a punishment? a farce.
