Was Hartley up to old (and distasteful) trick? - now cited!!

Post by parkerd68 »

There seemed to be a bit of a kerfuffle at one point in the Englan/Ireland match, and Hartley appeared to be in the middle of it. There then seemed to be some allegations from the Irish players of contact around the eye area (probably not their words).

Hartley got a lengthy ban for something like this in his earlier days didn't he?

This incident happened around 27 minutes into the first half. The Irish were remonstrating with the Ref but he had not seen anything. Nothing was shown by the TV cameras.

One for the citing officer to look at!

Alleged bite on Ferris at around 27:20.

I think the three nearest England players were Hartley, Parling and Barritt. There is clearly an altercation, but nothing else to be seen on the main feed.

Remember there are two sides to a nibble - the nibble and the question of what the finger was doing in the mouth (Mealamu).

I think it serves Ferris right. Hiding Hartley's dot to dot book was one thing, but laughing at his finger painting pictures was bang out of order.

Why are we not surprised?! Thank God it's the end of the tournament and we don't have to suffer the hooker from Wasps (whose name escapes me) and his horrificly misfiring throws into the lineout

IF found guilty then hopefully we won't have to put up with Hartley and his stupid smugness in an England shirt again.

I agree on both points, but also wonder if this citing is simply the result of a player's 'claim' or 'allegation' alone, surely there'd be some corroborating 'evidence' - photo/video.

If someone puts their finger in my mouth without consent it's getting bitten. If however it was teeth to finger without provocation and there's proof, standby for a long ban.

There aren't any decent, young, English hookers that are getting game time. What is the forums general view of Rob Hawkins (when he has two working arms) and Tom Youngs?
