Lewis Moody retires from international rugby.

It is a shame we wont see him in an england shirt again but he is not going to make the next world cup so has probably done the right thing in stepping down.

A true England and Tigers legend. Good luck to him for the rest of his career.

Definitely doing the right thing, for England and himself. Hopefully this will help him extend his club career an extra season or two.

It's a shame other senior members of the England team don't have the same sense of dignity and responsibility.

The right thing to do! ................but it does give Bath one more decent player during the 6 nations?

I am gutted for Lewis that he couldn't have gone out in the style he deserved. Watching the World Cup final now, wishing it was him that would lift the cup and get a truly deserved reward for all those years hard graft. Feel a lot of the members of the england squad let players like him down badly this year. Though he would be far too much of a gentleman to say so. Looking forward to his book arriving in a couple of weeks. Best of luck Lewis.

Congratulations to Lewis on a great international career.

It's the right time for him to retire.

Having just seen the awful refereeing performance in the final today I think I'm also retiring from watching international Rugby.
Excuse me. Where do I get a yellow balaclava from?
I asked Gavin Henson if they sold them at Matalan but he said they didn't because they messed his hair up.

Inevitable. I don't think his club career will go on that long either. The way he plays the game, his body is falling to bits.
Kicks and scrums and ruck and roll.....Is all my brain and body need!

If it had not been a world cup,he'd have stayed at Welford Road and retired here , I think.Great servant to his club and country.I don't think his heart is in Barf, can see him taking a coaches course and putting on a tracksuit soon, good luck to him whatever he does.

Always a Tiger, Lewis Moody you were great when fully fit. Bless him and good luck to him and his family. Guess it is inevitable that he will get injured again this season.

I hope that he has set the retirement ball rolling.

Moody has done the right thing ... and RC did the right thing in letting him go to Barf (despite our lack of obvious No 7). I would not be surprised if the injury toll on his body forces him out of the playing side of the game this season....

Great servant for Leicester and England. Hope his club career continues for a while and he enjoys his rugby (only time he should miss a game with a minor niggle is against us!)
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

He can be classed as a true Tigers legend, and he's a good bloke as well. I wish him well.

It's a shame though that he had to retire after a RWC like that - he was let down by lesser men!
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
