Agree with jgriffin, too little too late, and good riddance.

Should not be given the opportunity to quit, IRB should dispose of him before the end of this RWC, for what that would be worth.

Incompetence has finally been found out and/or admitted by the powers that be.

Both links work for me, Pam, and they are one and the same!

Amongst a group of incompetents such as Southern Hemisphere refs it takes a special talent to drop to the bottom of the barrel.

Won't be missed - he was pretty poor at the weekend! :smt006
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Who do people think should be the ref for the final?

I have to say I think Poitre is the best of the bunch, so if the French get beaten this weekend, it should be him.

Otherwise one of the saffas.

Joubert.... he is by far the best.... Wales V Ireland was the best refereed match.... no one had a complaint with anything .... perfect.

Barnes is very close to being the next Bryce Lawrence....... Barnes has done two of ours and both were badly handled. Hooks kick in the Saffers match etc etc

Bryce to go?

When he's clearly at the peak of his career?

What a shame.

After a little googling it is 3 each(SH/NH)for WCF refs the pattern being - SH - NH - NH - SH - SH - NH - ? So prob NH if pattern to continue & I'm sure the Welsh hope it's Poite!!

Bryce Lawrence is truly dreadful. The only mitigant is that he's so incompetent it's hard to discern any deliberate bias. Unfortunately that tends to mean whoever cheats the most around the tackle area wins, and that has tended to favour S Hemisphere and Ireland in recent years.

Joubert is the best of the S Hemisphere refs by a mile, though I would have to say I could find little fault with Walsh last weekend, and thought he was very fair. Not a fan of Kaplan at all.

For the N hemisphere the only ref I've found truly horrendous this tournament is Owens, who panders to the bigger nations to an extent which has to be seen to be believed. Not content with having totally done over Samoa vs SA, he then did the same again to Argentina vs NZ, where there appeared to be two entirely different sets of rules around the tackle area. I thought Contepomi was about to explode at one point. Owens is now so bad that he makes Clancy and Rolland look competent, which is some achievement. Agree that Poite is the best N hemisphere ref at the moment, though confess I've never had any particular issues with either Barnes or Pearson.
