Before the season started, I and others were saying how strong the squad was looking and how we had recruited well.
I still believe this to be the case and with a little more luck/nous/grunt/rub of the green we could have beaten Exeter, Wasps, Bath and even Quins. Just three of those as a "W" would have put us a point off the top 4 and everyone would be saying how well we had done!
Small margins.....
I would agree that some of the performances have been lacking in passion, intensity and skill, but if George Ford's drop goal in the first game goes over, then the momentum & belief builds and I believe the results would have followed.
But there have still been positives - Ford, Harrison, Salvi, Slater, Tom Youngs, Staunton playing flat(!) and - best of all so far - Morris.
We are still the best club in the Prem and now have to go out and prove it - big time.
Forget the guys who are injured or unavailable - we have still put out a decent side who are just not clicking at the moment.
But I tell you - when these guys play with passion & intensity and close out the win, I find it more enjoyable to watch than our "first" team putting 50 points on some middle of the table side without breaking a sweat.
In true Kevin Keegan style,
I would love it if we could now start storming up the table - building confidence and belief - then get to the 6N & lose half the team, and go down to Saffas with our second string side and give them a real stuffing -
Love it!
Come on Tigers !!!!
