Matt Everard
According to the bedford blues website he is on trial for the blues and is named in the squad for the friendly against sarries tomorow

Re: Matt everard
I am a bit surprised he hasn't found a club much easier. He would do well at a club like Newcastle or even Worcester.

Re: Matt everard
Probably on loan as Bedford and Nottingham are where Tigers send loads of our prodigies to develop and get plenty of match experience before returning
Re: Matt everard
sure i heard everard is a free agent.
bedford can be a bit indiscriminating with who they'll take in.
they had a number of sarries players dual registered last season, and again this season.
a few years ago there was a definite saints slant to their team ( still some of our old boys there - inc alex rae, club captain) then tigers had their turn, 12trees etc.
ps whatever happened to 12trees?

Don't mention the war...boon wrote:ps whatever happened to 12trees?
Re: Matt everard
Bedford are evidently not the only side interested. Sarries have named their team for the friendly against Esher, and the bench includes a familiar name...
There are strong links between Sarries and Bedford (lots of dual registration going on) so I would expect Everard to end up playing for Bedford next season. Though whether that's as a Bedford player or a loaned Saracens player might be still undecided.Saracens line-up vs Esher
15 Ben Ransom
14 Marcus Watson
13 Rodd Penney
12 Nils Mordt
11 James Short
10 Owen Farrell

5 Hugh Vyvyan

8 Jackson Wray

Re: Matt everard
Strange decision by us, he was never going to be a star but would never of let us down, this could return to bite us.
Personally I would of given him a go over signing Salvi, in the U20 RWC he wasalways in the right position with the right body angle so at least we have taught him right if nothing else.

To win is not as important as playing with style!

I think Salvi will prove to be one of our best players this season.

Re: Matt everard
I agree. He looked like a real good fetcher, something that Tigers haven't had for a while.Darc Tiger wrote:I think Salvi will prove to be one of our best players this season.
7 years so far..
Re: Matt everard
Everard did his chances of a contract a bit of good, scoring a try in Wasps' 15-0 win over Munster today.
Re: Matt everard
From these trial games it seems that Matt was definitely released by Tigers, and is now trying to find a new club, rather than being tempted away by somebody particular.
One wonders if this is due to the compensation scheme in place for the transfer of academy players between clubs.
