Matt Hampson Interview

Post by rocktop51 »

Worthy of its own post I think.

Wanted to share this - an inspiration to all.

He's on Radio 2 after 1pm today also (Sadly with Vanessa Feltz who knows less about rugby than my one year old daughter)

Got mine today, haven't had time to start it yet though. I bet he is getting SO bored of the same questions. Feltz woman dreadful, but Matt is very good at swerving the obvious and saying what he actually feels. Remember him doing the same on This Morning after Dan Jones suicide, he has a smiling way of just ignoring the way they want him to go and saying what he actually wants to say. Genius.

I'm forty seven and in absolutely fine shape apart from my damn laziness.

Matt's interview has inspired me to get my rear in gear and make the most of my self while I can.

My missus is doing a sponsored run in Hyde Park for Matt on September 11th so she is pushing me to do this too !

Inspirational human being he is. Greatest ever Tiger without playing a first team match ? I think so.

I agree with everyones views above but referring to the other post re Matt's interview in the Daily Telegraph one phrase summed up what Tigers is all about and it came from Cockers:

“He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”

The ethos of the club is above just results on the pitch, its something incoming players soon discover and it is what sets us apart from the rest irrespective of how hard they try to emulate us.

No need to say more - once a Tiger always a Tiger
Hambo :- He was with England when he was injured, but he was a Tigers player, our player. He is still our player.”

I suspect that many of you, like me, will thyink "That's OUR Matt!" when he's appearing in the media. Received my copy of "Engage" this morning and welled up a bit to see his signature inside, twitter photos show the effort made to do this, and the number of copies he had to do. It will be a treasured tome in my bookshelf and will be loaned to no-one - they can buy their own copy!

Rizzo - I want to get my son a signed copy - was the source of your book through Matt's site? Would rather that be the case than going Amazon etc if more £££ goes to the trust,

Yes, I bought my copy through Matt's website as soon as the pre-orders were available.
