Which is why I would take him over Staunton, who never looks threatening regardless of who is playing alongside him.
Vesty's not a first choice fly-half, but he's superb cover.
You might think that 4071. I might think that.
But we are not politically correct.
His face did not fit. And so he was cast out. As no doubt when some get their way so will you and I!
Bill I usually agree with you, but Vesty left for more first team rugby. It was not a case of his face not fitting at all, it was a case of Flood, Allen, Hamilton, Murphy, Staunton and Twelvetrees coming through being better players than him

His Mum does not believe that.
And I agree with his Mum!
btw we both (Mum and I) agree he left for more first XV Rugby. His mistake was in not leaving a year earlier to go to France for ££££££much.

Do you really want the forum shut down?
Why were three loyal servants of the Club who gave their all, man and boy, and never ever let us down, forced out?
OK. So once upon a time there were three gifted Rugby players. Mad dog Moody - a head case who never shirked physicality and became Captain of England, Sam Vesty - a guy with a rugby brain and vision who could see holes and gaps where others saw contact, and Danny "stay on your feet" Hipkiss who could make 20 yards after being tackled and still present the ball for the next phase.
Alas, their faces did not fit.
Sorry Bill - as a friend of him and his famiy, you are speaking total and utter nonsense as far as Lewis is concerned..... as for Sam and Danny - I can, like you, only guess, but you are so far from the mark with Lewis.
The faces not fitting argument is conspiracy theorist garbage.
People are more intent on blame for boredom than actual analysis on the structure of the team coupled with covenants set by the higher authorities.
Not everyone loves a cynic. One day you have to be FOR something. Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, caveated before people get bandwagon about rights etc etc etc.
