Travel Advice - AP Final

Post by COWLEY72 »

Hi,

We got the train down to London Eustone last year, across to Richmond and then got the shuttle bus from Richmond to the stadium.

Anybody have any better route from Euston via train etc?

Thanks

I'd recommend the tube to Pimlico (on the Victoria Line) then you can get an overground train from there to Twickenham park.

Coming back, get a train going the opposite way to pimlico, get off at the next stop, and grab one coming back to save lengthy queues :smt023
Never mind the ball, get on with the game!!

Northern Line to Leicester Square and then Piccadilly Line to Hounslow Central.

1. Turn left out of the station on to Lampton Road.
2. Follow this road as it becomes Bell Road.
3. Right on to Hanworth Road.
4. Left on to Cross Lances Road.
5. Over the crossroads on to Heath Road.
6. 2nd right after the railway bridge on to Central Avenue.
7. At the far end of Central Avenue, cross the road and take the footpath between the houses.
8. You emerge on to Whitton Dene approximately 400 yards from the stadium.

It's approximately a 2 mile walk but you miss the vast majority of the crowds by approaching from the north and departing in the same direction.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

Northern Line to Waterloo then choice of regular trains to Twickenham, including non-stop rugby specials. Return journey best undertaken after staying for a couple more pints after the game, to let the crowds go down...

Cycle to the station or motorcycle all the way.

If you are using the Victorial line, I would suggest train to Vauxhall rather than Pimlico- then you can pick up the train that has come from Waterloo. However, this will be PACKED!
The best route is, as Aidan has suggested, is to get the Northern Line to Waterloo and then the train to Twickenham from there.

get the train down/drive to Reading and then get the train to London Waterloo - which stops at Twickenham.

If you drive down, park at wokingham and get the train from there - £3 parking all day!!

It means you don't have to go through central london :smt004

Usually take the Victoria Line to Vauxhall and then get South West Train straight to Twix ... No hassle!

Agreed - definitely the best way from Euston - lived Highbury & Islington for 8 years and quickest way across London and out to Twix/Wimbledon etc always Victoria line and change at Vauxhall - less tube stops, quicker change at Vauxhall. tfl website agrees!

depending on which road route you take, enter the route in here and it should show you any potential problems.

my other half says he always finds Twickenham itself a bottle neck in the car.
