Good luck to Northampton(one off)

Post by divingrob »

I for one will be hoping that Northampton can make to the HC final this weekend, With Perpignan in 9th in the Top14 this could be a great weekend to be in MK.

This would have nothing to do with maybe playing Tigers a week before the final(if all goes well against the exiles).

can't agree at all, sorry. Saints had a much easier group, have the easiest of the last 4 and apart from hoping they are knackered, I vote for Perpignan!! :smt013 :smt039

Perhaps a bit of extra time just for good measure :smt041 :smt041
Although having had Perps in our group & seeing their fans at first hand home & away I wouldn't mind a french win in MK. All french final?

I'm with DivingRob - happy to support Northampton as a one off and as the last English team in the competition.

More than happy to meet them in the Aviva semi and all things will be back to normal - Tigers all the way to the title!!! Actually, would be nice to beat the Heineken Cup champions on the way to the Aviva title - shows which competition is tougher :smt003

As with all cup competitions the best team does not always win just depends on who you play.

Hate them to win it though.

Feel the result of this semi is slightly irrelevant as Toulouse or Leinster should beat the winners but am backing Perpignan for this game.

Dont agree with you. It is bad enough the pests having two HC wins, dont want Saints ramming it down our throats.
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

I'm Tigers through and through but wish Saints all the best. They play exciting rugby, fans and club are great, and they should beat Perpignan by 10 points. Saints could do the 'Double'! I also believe any of the top 4 sides in the Premiership can win it but if we do it will be remarkable given we've been without Murphy, Crane, Flood and Parling for most of the season!
No other side would cope without such players for lengthy parts of the season.
Then of course there was Croft out too for the middle part of the season!!!

I thought this thread was about Northampton in the Heineken Cup.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

If Northampton win this they go above us in the ERC rankings and we drop to becoming a tier 2 seed.

It's got to be Perpignan, I really couldn't cope with the Saints supporters gloating if they win the semi, let alone the final!!!

The Boss and I have our tickets for HK semi and we will be supporting Saints in spite of the excellent hospitality we received in Perpignan.
Too many England boys playing for Saints to do other than support our East Midland neigbours.
The only "English" team I would not support are Saraffens.
Tigers for Prem and Saints for HC to put our boys in good shape for RWC
