Saints Team v Glaws Tuesday Night

Post by doogie »

Very intersting team selections for tomorrows game. Saints have changed their entire starting 15 from the weekend.

If Glaws win it pretty much guarantees them 3rd spot in the Prem, meaning Saints can only finish 4th.

The way I read this ... Saints would prefer us in the Semi, rather than Sarries?

I think Saints are going to get shafted by that Glaws team.
Today is yesterday's tomorrow.

The bookmakers would seem to agree with you. Ladbrookes have Glaws at 1/6 to win, while Saints are 4/1 against.

Interesting....and there's me thinking that they'd go all out to win at Gloucester. I seriously thought Saints would turn them over but no chance with that line up. This changes things, I'm going for worst case scenario for Tigers:

Falcons v Tigers - Tigers 1pt
Glaws v Saints - Gloucester 5pts Saints 0
Irish v Saints - Saints win 4pts
Sarries v Glaws - Sarries win 4pts Glaws 0
Tigers v Irish - Tigers 4pts
Glaws v Sale - Glaws 5pts
Saints v Leeds - Saints 5pts
Quins v Sarries - Sarries 4pts

Final standings:
Sarries 75pts
Tigers 74pts
Gloucester 68pts
Saints 66pts

Gloucester could still finish 3rd with a non-bonus point win against either Sale (doubtful) or Saints (possible). Of course Tigers could very easily win at Newcastle but it's always close up there and they're fighting for their lives.

Do Saints get fined or points docked for fielding a weakened side :smt002

We were supposed to have been playing a weak Glos side but look what happened at the week-end!
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

3 games in 9 days kind of dictates squad rotation. And it's not an entirely changed side... Reihana and Callum Clark started on Friday night.

Bench looks kind of useful!

Could end in tears!

I think that Saints have conceded that they will not get a home draw and it makes no difference to who they play.
Tigers or Saracens away willl be tough games for them.

Glaws should win this one with those two line ups - but so should Tigers on Saturday.....

I think Saints have one eye on th HC semi & just want their 1st XV to beat Irish on Saturday to ensure they are in the playoffs if they beat Leeds in their final game.

Trying to play the same starting XV three times in 9 days was never really an option for either side and it appears at this point that Glaws have got the better options at the moment.

Semis still look like :
Tigers v Saints
Sarries v Glaws

With Barf 5th & Leeds to stay up !

17 - 8 Gloucester at half-time....Saints doing well considering the amount of players on the bench for them. Still in touch and will they bring the big guns on to go for the win second half ?
