We ARE on the box this weekend!
With it being a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday afternoon, I naturally assumed the Glaws game was not being televised live. I've just looked at my Sky planner to see what games are on this weekend and, to my surprise, I find we are on SS2 & HD2 from 14.30.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

If he bothers you that much, may I recommend one of the most amazing inventions of the past few years. It's called a mute button and you'll usually find one on all modern hand-held TV remote control devices.leic wrote:O Great, I can't wait to listen to Stuart Barnes again!!!

Re: We ARE on the box this weekend!
The problem is if you mute the tv you can't hear what the ref is saying and you can't hear the crowd. I'd rather Sky introduced a mute commentary service. That or gave all their games to ESPN where the commentators are allowed to;
a) disagree with each other
and
b) actually exchange light hearted banter and anecdotes.
The weary moanings and ramblings of Stuart Barnes and Dewi Morris look ever worse compared to the light hearted rugby discussions between Kay, Austin and Richards. Even Greenwood is starting to look like a fool.

Have you ever tried listening to the radio commentary in conjunction with the TV pictures? Alternatively, you could always go to the match.

Re: We ARE on the box this weekend!
I shall be going to the match.
I shall also record it via Sky+ for later viewing at about 10.00pm. This precludes listening to the simultaneous radio commentary unless I want "Herdle White's Sounds of the Caribbean". This is, of course, much more entertaining than Barnes and Co and ultimately more informative.

Today is yesterday's tomorrow.

I shall be attending DKRFCs last game of the Mids 1 West season on Saturday, and attending the "100% season record" celebration afterward (hopefully, unless Worcester Wanderers blot our copybook) in which case it will be a "promotion" party.
I shall be watching Tigers / Glaws later on when I shall in all probability be somewhat tired and emotional. :)

POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE.

Re: We ARE on the box this weekend!
Excellent! After a pre-game lunch at Cambridge it will be Cambs vs Tynedale outside and Tigers vs Glaws inside on the big screen. Best of both worlds!!
The severity of the itch is inversely proportional to the reach
Re: We ARE on the box this weekend!
I seem to remember the BBC having a ref link option on the red button so you could watch the game without commentary, surprised Sky haven't come up with something similar. Only down side was having to listen to the ref trying to justify his mistakes
A citizen of hope and glory
Re: We ARE on the box this weekend!
Much better than BBC commentary or radio team - I watched all the 6N games with the reflink option & it was far more enjoyable.Dave J wrote:I seem to remember the BBC having a ref link option on the red button so you could watch the game without commentary, surprised Sky haven't come up with something similar. Wish Sky would do the same.....
Re: We ARE on the box this weekend!
Personally I have no problem with Barnes or the other Sky commentators.
In my opinion, the people on here who criticise Barnes etc often do so due to some sort of pavlovian reflex based on long-outdated opinions from years ago when he genuinely was a one-eyed ex-Bath obsessive rather than the two-eyed commentator that he has been for a few years now.
Try doing what Barnes does now and watch/listen with both eyes open rather than doing what you (wrongly) criticise Barnes of doing (ie being one-eyed) and you may be surprised.
Too many fans on here are ironically quite one-eyed in their opinions of non-Tigers commentators/pundits/fans, accusing them all-too-often of being one-eyed themselves!

But Stuart Barnes is a pantomime villain - we are supposed to dislike him.
Boo! Hiss! He's behind you!
