Ayerza's hearing is today

Post by BJ. »

Just flashed up on the Sky Sports News banner that Marcos and Marler will have their hearings today. That's all it said.
Whatever you do, don't argue. We might never hear from you again.

If he appeals, he will be free to play on Saturday, unless they can put together an appeal hearing before then

That's impressively quick. It's not unusual for RFU hearings to take place more than a week after the incident in question.

Stanko for the starting berth against Leinster, then.

Well I hope they review the footage leading up to the alleged headbutt because if they do they will see that Marcos was severely provoked. Marler was pulling him by the neck and then the headguard. I'm not condoning what Marcos did but I think it is clear that Marler was the instigator.

i'm going to have to watch the game again as our front row are never normally that agitated by oponents, but The Dan Cole wasnt happy either throughout the game. I certainly think that there must have been some foul play causing our players to react that way !!

did i see scratches on 'The Dan Cole's' face too ???

Ayerza is one of our most valuable players and highly under rated, we need him in Dublin if at all possible !!

I hope I'm wrong but I can't see it being any less than a month for Ayerza. It was a limp attempt at a headbutt but the IRB are cracking down and I should imagine the panel will make an example of Marcos - especially if our old Tigers' friend Judge Blackett is presiding.

As for an Ayerzaless Saturday squad I wouldn't be surprised to see Castro start at loosehead leaving the power of Boris and Whitey on the bench. Castro's park skills are too important to leave on the bench for 50 minutes against a team as good as Leinster - having him AND Cole starting would be huge in the absence of Ayerza.

I have always been a Marcos fan.

Personally I'd start with Castro at loose and Whitey at tight as we used to do few seasons ago. Dan and Stanko on the bench. Hopefully with power of Deacon at lock to back them up.

I am not very hopeful of anything less than 4 weeks. I hope that Wayne Barnes's comment to the touchjudge is the one that he used in his report " I saw No1 white lead with his head". No mention of a head "Butt".
Hehehehehehehehe

Will make no differerence.

8 weeks for Marcos, 2 for Marler.
Still keeping the faith!
