Look on the bright side
Our 9 game winning run has ended but look on the bright side if we win 7 in a row in the premiership we will be Champions. Even a run of 3 wins in row, 1 defeat and then another run of 3 in a row will do. We could even have a run or 4,then 1 defeat and then 2 in row or a 2 win run 1 defeat and 4 on the trot.
That's cheered me up, anyone else wants to be happy?

Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.

Ok,im not rolling about laughing but we still sit on top of the table even after losing to a full sarries side with a well below strength side and we should have nicked it in the last minute. so the wife is not hiding all sharp objects.
Re: Look on the bright side

Apart from pride we only dropped 3 points yesterday. Keeping Saffers to no TBP and losing within 7 was a decent result given the missing players IMO.

Saffers get a tbp? They never even looked like getting close to out whitewash!Purebob wrote:Apart from pride we only dropped 3 points yesterday. Keeping Saffers to no TBP and losing within 7 was a decent result given the missing players IMO.

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you're chewing on life's gristle,
Don't grumble,
Give a whistle...
unless you are a referee or a TJ.

Don't waste your time away thinking about yesterday's blues

Shouldn't this be on the Poetry Thread on CCF?Rizzo wrote:Some things in life are bad,

Saints run has shown how well we have won (not played) these past 4 weeks, we have not played to our best but we sit top, 95% guaranteed of a home semi rather than battling for an away semi spot. Football analysts always say how Man Utd can win while not playing well and Tigers have demonstrated this, despite a slip up against Sarries, who looking at the team sheets, would have been expected to win eve though the game was at Welford Road. All will be well.
Re: Look on the bright side
Travelled back from the match on the train with some sarries fans who were - good-naturedly - reminding us that they won at WR last year as well. felt like asking them about the final - were they running round Twickenham with the trophy or did the trudge off with losers medals?
indeed, PM76 - all shall be well, and all shall be well and all manner of things shall be well.

Re: Look on the bright side
I actually think losing might not have been a bad thing. There is a decent chance we might meet Saffas in the final and if we do our guys, especially after the way they celebrated at the end, will be out for blood in a massive way.
You could say that they will have the knowledge that they have done us at home but they will be very aware that we were missing some massive players and even then they couldn't score a 5 pointer past us and only won because we missed a few kicks (and they got a few suspect penalties IMO).
Bring back our engine room (Cole, Deacon, Crane), add in the best half backs in the country and I think we would put them to the sword. Also factor in that this was Crofts first start in a while and that even though we had Castro he didn't start (probably a bit worn down having played some big games recently with no breaks).
I hope we do meet them in the final again so Manu has a chance to repeat his efforts!

Concur Will S (now I've got it out of my system and thinking reasonably rationally again).
Sponsorship deals may come and go but the CRUMBIE stand will always remain.
Re: Look on the bright side
That Saffers treated a dull, lucky victory at WR like a cup final win says everything about their expectations and capabilities.
Re: Look on the bright side
Saracens won a tight game against our second string by one point because we missed 50% of our goal-kicks and they missed 0%.
If they want to celebrate that then good luck to them. Without Glen Jackson and Justin Marshall they are a pale shadow of last year and they weren't good enough then.
