Nooooooooooooo - don't let the Saffas take our home record away. I'd rather it was Wasps than them. :smt011
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.

Let us be quite clear.

Tigers will defeat Saffacens despite the ref.

The only two questions are by how much and whether we gain the tbp.

Cockers knows what he's doing,he will I'm sure be sleeping soundly and not worrying about this weekend. They have got to win,we don't,that makes them vulnerable by trying to overplay the game,Tigers win by more than one score.
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

Crane and Slater available for selection, but no Smith.

Gives Cockerill a selection dilemma in the back row, with a full complitment to select from.

For pity's sake...Harrison is a youngster, learning his trade in professional rugby...to throw him in against Saracens this weekend would be suicidal. Cockers knows what he's doing, he knows the players, he knows the best side to win these games during the 6 Nations...he's done it before and he's been doing it over the last few weeks. The fact that Harrison is in the 22 will do him the world of good, giving him a taste of the big-match atmosphere etc

So we throw him in and he gets a hammering...what good is that ? Poor old Grindall suffers from not being that exciting, along with Staunton but they are every bit as important as everyone else in the squad..played a huge part in winning the Premiership last season and are doing so again this season.

Utter nonsense . Nothing that Grindall and Staunton can do cannot be provided by Harrison and 36 - in addition they will gain valuable experience and also exhibit just a little bit of flair and excitement that is so sorely lacking in the pedestrian back play of recent weeks .

Cockers will play Grindall and Staunton.

Because in his judgement this starting combination is more likely to result in a win.

You think playing a rookie at scrum half and an inside centre at fly half would be better.

This in part explains why Cockers is DoR and you are not.

I am also glad Cockers got the job of DOR over Mike. He can't win though can he if he picks these young inexperienced players and it backfires half this forum will be calling for his head.
He is doing an excellent job look at the tables and results...

Mike certainly is a tactical genius isn't he? - I do wish he was our DOR instead of that idiot back to back championship winning fool Cockers... :smt030

Having Sam and 36 on the bench gives us cover if through injury or chronic dullness we need to change our halfbacks. And as another poster said perhaps our bench isn't setting the world alight in training ? Why would Tigers be looking to sign Mickey Youngs if Harrison was showing huge promise ?

Its a difficult conundrum for sure, this "winning while also testing new players".

West totally agree, however some on here live in a nightmare world where unless Tigers thrash everyone and score more than 4 tries in every game and play inexperienced at the same time it is all doom and gloom. It also seems that the opposition are always better than us.
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.
