Incoming rumours:
According to Daily Mail Micky Young (Falcons 22 year old and very talented Scrum-Half) may be on his way to Tigers. Interesting call for him more than the club.

Re: Micky Young
Kieron Brookes to Tigers
Sione Kalamafoni to Tigers (Falcons or Wuss)
Graham Kitchener to Tigers or Gloucester
Ross Ford to Tigers or Saracens
From another board.

Re: Incoming rumours:
/Sorry Moose - the initial thread title was "Micky Young" until i pucked up some more rumours! - Micky Young the Newcastle Scrum Half.
Re: Incoming rumours:
No worries mate.
I must confess to needing to do some reaseach on a couple of the other names you've posted.
Micky Young, however, I am familiar with. I suppose the question is 'do we need him?'. Whilst his wages wouldn't be astronomical, as a Saxon they'll be relatively high. WIth Youngs playing well, Grindall seeming to be in decent form of late and Harrison by all accounts a good prospect do we really want to splash the cash on another player who will be absent for periods (e.g. the Churchill Cup)?
Assuming Chutes is on the wane/way out, Ford would be a welcome signing - I would like Hawkins and Duffey to step to the fore in the meantime though.

Re: Incoming rumours:
ross ford would be a great signing. would only make our front row stronger. and give us some proven quality at 2
Re: Incoming rumours:
With Ben Youngs set to be on England duty forever more we do need an extra 9, as we saw in the Autumn we are a bit thin in this specialist position and bringing in a short term signing is not usually feasible

Re: Incoming rumours:
If we do need another 8, I have heard that Kalamafoni is a great prospect. He is at Nott'm and has played in our A team, so he should be well known. As Kb posted, Newcastle are also very keen.
Agree with the comments about Ross Ford. Presumably, if this were to happen, then we would let Duffy go.

Re: Incoming rumours:
Kalamafoni, Brookes, Young and Kitchener all noted by Rugby Paper as being in Cockers mind. Well it is the time for rumours to start and agents to start hawking their wares!
Re: Incoming rumours:
James Grindal is out of contract at the end of a season.
Why would Young want to come? If he has international aspirations he would surely hope to be unavailable at exactly the same time as Youngs meaning the need for even more cover.

Re: Incoming rumours:
Micky Young would be an excellent deputy to YBY . He is very similar in style to Ben and that would help develop a more consistent style of play . YBY will be away a lot next Season with the World Cup and 6 Nations , whilst Youngs will be around as Care , Simpson and Hodgson are all ahead of him at present .
Not sure where we are with Chuter in terms of contracts , but Ford would be an excellent addition .

Re: Incoming rumours:
Micky is a very talented player but I can't see it making sense for either party. Grindall is a good old head and Harrison is an exciting prospect. I admit we struggled during the AI's but that was when Harrison was injured. If I were Micky I would want to go to a club where I stood a chance of being first choice (if I were him I would be trying to go to Saints as they lack a quality 9).
I personally feel we should be looking for a high quality hooker, a top class openside and I would also be on the look out for a bright young talent at 15 to deputy for GM with a view to taking over from him in the next year or two.
My biggest priority however is making sure we hang on to the high quality young talent we already have!

Re: Incoming rumours:
Quite, I would argue for us it makes sense though - he'd be a better and younger deputy foy YBY than Grindal i feel (though i don't want to take away from James here - he's been superb this season) and we have been exposed here at certain parts this season with YBY away. Will S wrote:Micky is a very talented player but I can't see it making sense for either party. Ross Ford i think would be an outstanding shout for us at Hooker. We have a pretty bad lack of depth here and he is a serious quality hooker - strong scrummager, carrier and throws accurately in the lineout. Lucas Amorisino is hopefully that i guy - I wonder where Lucas is this season? Will S wrote:I personally feel we should be looking for a high quality hooker, a top class openside and I would also be on the look out for a bright young talent at 15 to deputy for GM with a view to taking over from him in the next year or two.
Re: Incoming rumours:
I saw Amorisino yesterday coming out of the changing rooms, whilst I was lurking outside with Caveman Beard and Wig, waiting for Castro ... So he's still knocking around!

Re: Incoming rumours:
I think all of the above mentioned would be good signings - Young and Ford, in particular, would be fantastic recruits. I think SH and H are the two positions we are probably weakest in although Hawkins looks like he'll be a really good player - Duffey maybe less so.
I think having another handy young SH would be hugely beneficial. BY is playing a lot of rugby for such a young man and having a high class rival can only help him and the team as whole. Remember when we had BY, Hazza (sort of) and Julien Dupuy? Good times!

I saw Marika Vunibaka play
