Any news about Ross Ford? Or has that rumour died.
Re: Incoming rumours:
Speedy's departure confirmed, probably to France.

Not developed as well as Cockers had hoped apparently.

Still keeping the faith!
Re: Incoming rumours:
The interview said how either of them had hoped... so I guess it was a bit of a two way street... injuries again unfortunately..Sherpa2 wrote:Speedy's departure confirmed, probably to France.

Shame. He had that unteachable ability to create something from nothing, I really thought he had a bright future with us after last season. But Cockers knows more than me, and it seems things havent gone as planned.
Wish him well.

Re: Incoming rumours:
I wish Speedy all the best, along with everyone else.
The thing that struck me reading the Mercury article is that Speedy is 25-years old. I actually thought that he was younger, but that might be my deteriorating number of brain cells.
In the circumstances, the club will have wanted him to be up to a set level if a further 2-year contract was to be offered.
Arguably, 25 years is the age where any player is "making it or breaking it", and as was stated in the article, the progress over the last two years has not been as great as both Speedy or the club would have wished. His injury record could well have been a factor as well, as far as we know.
Much as I like Speedy, you then have to look at his replacement Tait only being 24-years old, arguably having greater potential, and unlikely to be away during the World Cup. So from the club's perspective, it probably makes a lot of sense.
Shame all the same.............

Neil Back is the Greatest!
Re: Incoming rumours:
Agree MT, it's a shame when we take a player into our hearts btu they don't quite make it. It's more of a cut throat business these days even more so with the SC we can't afford to 'carry' anyone..
cheers

Too lightweight for the first team maybe ?
I will be watching with interest how he goes on Friday, although the decision appears to be made.....
Can we get shot of Robinson as well please

Thanks for the link, MT.
Looks like Worcs are keen to keep hold of him.

Re: Incoming rumours:
I can't say I blame them. I've only seen him in last week's Saxons match but he looked mighty impressive. For just 21 years old and a current Championship player, he is definitely one to watch.voice of the crumbie wrote:Looks like Worcs are keen to keep hold of him.

Re: Incoming rumours:
I think Kithchener looks like he may fit into the increasing League type paradigm, where apart from the set piece the gap between forwards and backs becomes narrower. That is you need backs who can ruck a bit, and forwards who can catch, pass and run lines.
