I was really sad to read on the website that Laurence Fenton passed away just before the New Year. He was my first rugby coach when I started playing at South Leicester at the age of 7 and he was always brilliant at helping kids to learn the rules, techniques and, most importantly, the values of rugby.
He obviously went on to do some sterling community work with the Tigers and was regularly out refereeing the Prima Tiger Cup at Welford Road, but for me he will always be the good bloke who helped me start enjoying rugby.
I'm sure everyone here echoes the sentiment when I say our thoughts are with his family and friends.

Re: Laurence Fenton
Long time no post. Spoke to Laurence on one occasion, when putting together a tribute for another rugby man who died of a heart attack. Found him to be a really lovely guy, who couldn't help me enough. RIP.
Re: Laurence Fenton
Only knew Laurence through LRU Youth activities - a bit of a shock to hear this news. Nice man. My condolences to his family.
