Referee for next Sunday against Perpignan

Post by wardy »

Is another of the Irish - Peter Fitzgibbon!!!!

Personally I was hoping for someone who might know a little more about the dark art of scrummaging than Alan Lewis. From past experience Fitzgibbon knows even less. :smt022 :smt022

Hmmm...well at least it's not Bryce Lawrence. Can you believe he's up for NZRU Referee of the Year, lol?

Let's be honest, none of the referees know a great deal about scrummaging; or if they do they certainly don't think it's important enough to worry about it during the course of a match.

I loved that 5 minutes at the end of Saturday's first half - fantastic to see two big packs going at it. It's a shame that Lewis didn't have a clue about where it was going wrong. Why he binned the hookers I'll never know. If anyone was to go to the bin it should have been Ayerza for folding sideways and collapsing and Mas for boring in on the Chuter.

Good to see Cockers commenting in the Mercury online today that Julian White will be in the 23 on Sunday, with Castro potentially covering loosehead. Stanks has been a big loss with the Perpignan games in mind. How good it'll be to have the option of bringing on Castro and White with 30 mins to go this Sunday though!

He can come off after 50 minutes once the tbp win is secure!
Still keeping the faith!

Mr White will only require 10 minutes at the most to destroy their front row
Of course this is my own opinion and other posters may have a different perceived factual viewpoint.
