Re: British Taxpayers to fund Scottish Rugby
That is truly shocking and nearly as bad as British taxpayers paying £80 million for the Lloyds sponsorship of the LONDON olympics
All of it needs to be stopped now, and every penny piece they owe should paid back to the treasury before they start their wasting again

Nearly as bad as all the duty from Scottish Whisky going straight to London
"If you want entertainment, go to the theatre," says Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill. "Rugby players play the game to win.15/1/21.

And what happened to Scottish oil revenues???
It is about time Scotland got something back. I think RBS sponsorship is about as OK as is Aviva's.

Not quite. Those two well known prudent Scots, Brown and Darling spent most of it bailing out Banks and Building Societies in Scotland and the North of England, building a Scottish Parliament and creating non jobs for relocated civil servants in the same locations.Stu_F wrote:Used to fund an economic boom in London & the South East wasn't it?fleabane wrote:And what happened to Scottish oil revenues???.
The economic boom in London and the South East was funded by Americans, Japanese and Chinese!!

Re: British Taxpayers to fund Scottish Rugby
There were/are no such thing as Scottish oil revenues. The oil fields were paid for and operated by British and US firm's investment and capital, not Scottish ones, and the Scottish economy profited greatly from the support business.fleabane wrote:And what happened to Scottish oil revenues???
