Bill, his best may not be good enough as we have seen many times this season with others who are supposed to be amongst the best on the planet (the name Kaplan comes to mind)

A touch unkind to W. Barnes Esq. who is consistantly bad. Kaplan is inconsistantly bad.wardy wrote:Bill, his best may not be good enough as we have seen many times this season with others who are supposed to be amongst the best on the planet (the name Kaplan comes to mind)

I thought it was hilarious on the ESPN coverage of the Australia game that the team kept WB waiting when he knocked on the door, in fact pretty much slamming the door shut on him. Comedy gold... He allowed himself a wry smile at least!

The Hardlywins unoffy is, of course, delighted. The only concern there is, gasp!, one might be forced to stay overnight in Leicester. Too, too horrid my dears.

Very very funny when Geordy slowly but firmly shut the door on Barnes, despite having his foot in and trying to shoulder open the door. Less of a wry smile and more of an embarassing "oh s***!' in front of the camera I thought! The Ightham Tiger wrote:I thought it was hilarious on the ESPN coverage of the Australia game that the team kept WB waiting when he knocked on the door, in fact pretty much slamming the door shut on him. One would have expected the Hairy Queens to be delighted at Mr. Barnes officiating!!!!Old Hob wrote:The Hardlywins unoffy is, of course, delighted. The only concern there is, gasp!, one might be forced to stay overnight in Leicester. Too, too horrid my dears.

Wayne Barnes is not that bad, I can think of several that would be much worse.
Andrew Small and Jonathan Kaplan two names that instantly come to mind.

For ...... sake give the man a chance. Writing on the forum about our next Referee could go against us, just like when Wayne was booed last season as teams came out. 30 seconds later penalty against us!!! If we did no wrong we would not get pinged like we do. Sometimes your general play hides other matters within your team.
Once game is over and ASSUMING he has a bad game then fair enough express your feelings, until then be glad that we have a game Friday night and get behind the team.Be warned, LEAVE THE REF ALONE. Work with him not against and often you find things come your way.
I should be more concerned that if we were to loose that is 5 on the trot! That is what we should be worried about, i bet Cokers is!

Just proves what a poor ref he is ig he bases it on the forum or the crowd. Isn't he essentially a 'homer' so that might work for us a bit anyway?
Nowadays referees decide matches, players by how much.
