Stade Francais have done it again...

Post by Darc Tiger »

Without wanting to start up the dancing girls debate again, (steady on Bill!), I thought I had to share this with you. Stade's latest pre-match festivities. I really dont know what to make of this!

I don't know what NSFW means but I was at the stadium behind the posts and I can tell you that the video is exactly what happened that day at the Stade de France. :smt003 The more I get used to it, the more I like it. I have seen hot air balloons, helicopters dropping special forces, horses with Napoleonic era horseguards, elephants and even a tiger (OUTSIDE its cage). It's all part of our crazy president idea of a show. It's good fun for families who rally to watch and those interested only in rugby can come for kick-off (as I did in the past). President max does a formidable job of grabbing non-rugby audiences to the stadium. Normally we play in Charléty since our Stade Jean Bouin is being rebuild and the crowd very seldom exceeds 11 000.

BTW Stade Français won that game, which was not evident at all considering the opposition.

For Old Hob : before the leopard moment (only made to sell the new kit) we had a presentation of Argentinian culture (tango and folk dance) sponsored by the Argentinian ministry of tourism to celebrate their 200 years of independence. It has absolutely nothing to do with Stade Français (except for our Argentinian players) but it is worth showing in a stadium and that's why Max hired them. BTW any suggestion for a show that won't damage the pitch is welcome. We've got a small foldable stage and my dream is to see the Rolling Stones before a game !

Thanks Ze Stade Fan. What do they say to the players in the tunnel each time?

"Follow that"

"Don't try to feed the cat ?" or "The lady is already married ?"

I don't know. I remember seeing a video of the lockers room seconds before the H Cup game that Stade won over Leicester at Stade Charléty in 2005 (2006 ? can't remember the year but it was a close shave for Stade). Dominici was turning in circles repeating "great players, great games" while all the others kept shut, that's all he had to say appearently. :smt023

It does make the opening bars of Smoke On The Water seem a bit dull in comparison.

I was lucky enough to be in Paris a couple of weeks ago and the Metro station walls were adorned with flourescent pink posters advertising this match. The poster featured a player in pink posturing in the most homoerotic pose! I didn't know where to look :smt006

Actually I married her. But she's still available for stag nights, parties, barmitzvahs and weddings. And she hasn't raised her prices.
